Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Keep an open mind and ask questions! Talk to the recruiter, surf the internet, read "Honor, Courage, Commitment". The more you as a parent know going into this, the more aware you can be about what your child is experiencing. (You'll also start being able to pick up on that wonderful Navy jargon!)
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Cindy, I was wondering the same thing as Suzanne, since you are the creator of the group, it would be good to update our name from SK to LS.

Hey Cindy, girl if you are a flake, then trust me, you're in good company! LOL Maybe you and I will both be able to make our way down/over to Everett in April?!? Put a big "X" on the second to last week and I'll keep you in the loop by PM. They will probably need our family sized vehicles to be at the ready for N4Ms carpools. :-) Hope all is well with Adam and the rest of the family. Take care busy mom.

Arrrgghhhh! Sad news. The heart prolapse is bad. The blood regurgitates back (when it's supposed to pump only one way) when you have a mitral valve prolapse, and his is like wide open (not normal!). Damien is going to a cardiologist on Monday. He will definitely not be on sub, and may even be medically discharged. His life has turned upside-down... will get back online on Monday to let you know how things are. Scary. Sorry to have to share bad news.... :(((

Hi Cindy! I didn't know that the names of ships for their groups was a new thing? Damien's was the USS Kearsarge. They also called it ship 11. Well I just got really sad news from him today and I posted the info on the CS group. Now he has no idea what they are going to do with him. His SDC's were really disappointed that he has a medical problem. they were really excited about him. My how things can change. I just hope my kid is going to be okay.
