Hi Cindy,
I don't know why your email kicked back. I did recieve the email that you sent. In fact I got 3 messages from you so actually no info is missing from the abbreviated message that I didn't get through the others.
How exciting for you to go to Israel...tomorrow!! (Sorry, it's been an unusually busy two weeks & Dave's been sick to boot.) Then to see your son later in the month. I bet you can't wait. Have you ever been to San Diego before?
My Nathan may be back home this weekend for a very short visit, if he gets his leave approved. He decided that he'd like to be here to celebrate his Dad's 60th birthday, even though he starts primary that very same day. More than I expected!
I just realized I'm sending this to your comment wall instead of to your inbox. I'll email my phone number to you.
Love ya,
Lynn

Hi Cindy,
As you can see your sister-in-law is on the site...pictures are great! I will commit to pray for Nathan that his faith would continue to be in Him and not the ways of the world. That HIs hedge of protection would be solidly around Nate. "The finer points of letting go"...trusting our Lord when you can't physically be where Nate is.
Love you lots,
barbara

Cindy, It sounds like Nathan had a wonderful send off. You always seem to manage to incorporate the most important (i.e. the spiritual) aspects into whatever you do. I admire this about you. Have you heard from him yet?

I only hope that your Mother's Day with your boys was all you hoped it would be. I look forward to seeing both my boys together when the youngest PIRs June 5th. Yes, my boys are close, remarkable as that may seem, they are 5 years apart. Most of the time the oldest takes the lead, but at this stage of their lives, the youngest stepped up first, only having to wait to join his big brother. The youngest took a back seat to allow his brother the opportunity at the Nuke spot, he will be 25 this summer and the recruiters wanted to get him in as soon as possible. So, forgive me but I am somewhat naive and all this Navy lingo is quite alien to me, but your son did not choose submarines? He must have chosen a cruiser instead? I am confused, but I am so proud of all our young people who give this time to their country. Thanks for saying "Hi", talk to you soon.

Hi Cindy, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It's been a pretty crazy week. I was either at work or babysitting or my youngest son was using the computer for homework. I'm trying to catch-up a little while my grand daughter watches Sesame St. I watch her Sat. - Tues. while her parents work/ go to school.
Anyway, Nate seems to be doing well. When I called a week ago Sat., he was at a friend's house having a BBQ. I was glad that he had a social group. This last Sun., he attended a church that he thinks will work out for him. It is small, but the people welcomed him & he felt like it was a place where people were genuinely pursuing a relationship with God. He is doing admin. work wile he's waiting to class up & it's keeping him busy. Gotta go, Kayla needs supervision for cleaning up a mess. Your friend, Lynn

Hi Cindy,
My daughter's fiance, Chris, graduated OCS on December 5th (class 0309) after attending Norwich University. Now he is in San Diego on the USS Stockdale. He also went to SWO school. My son, Patrick, is at the Naval Academy class of 2011.

Hi Cindy,
Wasn't graduation from OCS awesome? Congrat to you and your amazing son.

My son at the Naval Academy, Rory, should be in San Diego from the end of May til end of June. He will have a week of flying in jets, a week of marine training , a week of SWO , and a week of submarine training. They expose them to all things available to do as a career in the navy the summer between sophmore and junior year. He has to make a decision for his designation next year. And that is only one of his 3 summer months this year. The other 2 are filled with other fun stuff to do, but not in San Diego. Anyway, I'll mention the Chanclerville(sp) to him---maybe they'll cross paths.
If I remember correctly, Nathan wanted to change his designation. How did that work out? Isn't it great having him home? What a great adventure he is going to have.

Conor is in Corpus Christi , Tx ,about a month behind in training than Jane's son, Brian. He starts training there on April 27th. Sarah is going out there to visit him today. She's so excited. His birthday is the 28th. He has 2 roommates , friends from OCS. He likes Corpus, says it is "small town" , not a whole lot to do , but training is going to totally comsume him and he won't have time for anything else anyway. He should actually go up in a plane about a month after he starts training. They practice in the simulators first. He wears a flight suit and belongs to a squadron-- all that official stuff.

Don't know when we'll go to see him. My Brian graduates from college May 2, then is getting his wisdom teeth out, then I'm going back up to visit my GF who just had triplets to help her out, then Brian goes to OCS June 21, graduates in Sept, and to Annapolis to see Roar and a football game in Sept. So ,sometime between all that ,Terry and I will go to Corpus. Also, PLEASE let me know when you come to FL. It would be so great to get together. Another mom is coming in May for her son's winging in Jacksonville and all of us in the area are getting together for lunch sometime while she is here. I'm sure our husbands will get along too.

Somewhere I read that you love to ski in Crested Butte. Of all the places we've skied, that is our favorite. Delta flew into Gunnison, half hour flat drive, small village type atmosphere, so convenient. Delta doesn't fly there anymore, to go skiing was a huge hassle to me and Terry's knee are shot, so we don't go anymore. The kids do , though. Love Crested Butte.

Thanks for checking on me. So good to hear from you. See ya soon.
