Profile Information

About me:
I am a recently retired teacher. My husband and I have a son on the USS Roosevelt and our daughter's husband is in the army. My son had a son born in November while he is out at sea. My son-in-law just left for Iraq for a year. They have a baby girl due in April. He also will not be there for the birth.
I am here to support or represent my:

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
He is on his own and has to make his own decisions.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Cindy, well I hope and pray the best for Michael and your all your family. I understand how difficult it can be. My son had his hand crushed while on the USS Kitty Hawk a couple of years ago. Luckily he didn't have to have surgery but it took a while for it to heal properly. Surgery was undecided for a while but he lucked out. He does have full use of his hand, but it really hurts him sometimes. I am sending you a friend request....talk to you later and keep looking up.
