My "adopted son" says its hell! It's a extended push up with 8 sequences to finish it. If you google "8 count bodybuilders" you can view videos showing one. He hated doing them as did most of the recruits!

I think it's Honor, Courage and Commitment. You can get it on Amazon for a good price, can't find it in the stores. I bought it for my son and for me before he went to Boot Camp. Great book!

Does anyone know about any separations yet?? My son sent us a letter explaining that he was going through a medical "re-evaluation" and that he would possibly sent home, and as a result we're all worried sick! Thanks for any info you may have!!

Alie, you can bring your son to the hotel and can be with him up until he boards the plane! When my son left, we brought him up to Albany the evening before. He had to check in with the military personnel at the hotel, then could go with us for di...

My daughter is in the DEP program and is due to go to boot camp in March, 2010. She scored well on all her tests and signed up for AECF but we now wonder if this would be a good job for her. Initially she wanted to do finance/accounting so the ski...

For Navy families that have a son or daughter serving the military as an FC or an ET on ships. For subs - look for the SECF group. Our chance to share and learn more about their jobs and schools.

Thanks Angie. Alana went up to Albany wanting finance but since she scored so well on the tests decided on the AECF. We absolutely trust the recruiter she is working with; Alana's twin brother and her bf are also in the Navy and the recruiter has ...

Hi Clare, I was wondering how your son is doing down in Kings Bay? T.J seems to be doing ok. He is still a little homesick. We went down there a couple of weeks ago and brought him a car so he can get around a lot easier. T.J just started working the night shift last week so it is a adjustment for him. write back when you can..

Hi Clare, just following up. I see you found Mary and the AECF Group. :) Did Alana have her follow up Aug meeting with the Recruiter? Do you all feel you have a better handle on the job now? What is she thinking she wants to do? Best wishes to her, I'm sure if her twin bro is any indicator, she'll do great at whatever she decides to do. What a good Mom you are for supporting all of them so well! :-) Take care!

Hi Clare - wanted to welcome you to the AECF group but I've been on vacation so I'm a tad late in those wishes! Two sailors in the house...wow. Our son has just graduated from C school and he is an FC, happy to say he is home on leave but will be reporting to Hawaii (too) soon. If we can answer any questions, please let us know.

Hi Clare, nice to hear from you and add you as a friend! We live in Bethel, CT (is that very far from you?) Andrew is a MA like your son and so far has been on guard duty A LOT. He loves it now, wasn't too sure at first, but yeah, there's a lot of things to do around the base and like I said, EVERYONE tends to head up to FL (A likes the JAX base up there) whenever they have leave. Give me a holler back soon! sooz

Hi Clare, My son T.J is also down in Kings Bay. He has been there for two weeks now. He is starting to get used to it. He does not care to work out with the marines, he has some major blisters on his feet! Hopefully he only has a few more days working out with them. T.J loves to see the alligators in the lake right there on base, he has not been off the base yet, I am hoping he will go this weekend. We are looking into getting him a car while he is down there.
