Profile Information

About me:
I have one daughter, two sons, and a step son. My oldest son was in the Army Guard and my step son is in the Army now and stationed in Afghanistan. My youngest son has wanted to join the Navy since he was five years old. Since his brothers had been in the service I wasn't prepared for how hard this would be to let my youngest go. I thought my heart was being ripped out. My struggle has been this plus trying not to let him know and to be encouraging to him when I wish he was home. I retired from 30 years of teaching this year so I have more time on my hands and more time to miss him. My husband still works so I'm home alone all day. We were hoping he would be stationed close to home so we could see him on occasion. Instead he was sent to Japan for three years.

Good Evening Claudia,
I know he is assigned to the radar plane. I don't knowif that helps. I'll ask my husband he taking a cat nap It is only 9:08 down here--HA HA.
Kurt called his sister yesterday it was her B-day. They are only 2 yrs. apart. He said they are back.
I am sending one more Christmas box . He already opened the others. That's funny. He said everything was in good shape. Glad to hear that. I'll close for now. I'll talk to you before Thanksgiving.
Rest well.

Hey, It was nice to see an e-mail from you. Thanks. I will check out the other site you sent me.
Il ove to look at the pics. I hope we can visit Japan some day to see Kurt.
Thanks for the info. I am so sorry to hear that there are sticky fingers on the boat. It is too bad. I will relay the info. to Kurt. I am almost sure he is aware of it. Even in scouts that happened.
Kurt left last Jan. for Basic and we've been through birthdays, etc. without him. It is tough but you are right he is doing what he is called to do. That keeps Kent (hubby) and me on track. Kurt's sisters miss him a lot. I'll close for now. Keep in touch. Sincerely, Kim K.
I hope you and I have the chance to meet someday. I know our messages are posted that is why I won't send our address.
E-mails are good and thaey work.
I wonder if our sons have met yet ?? I'll be writing Kurt this weekend.

Hi Claudia,
Kurt is one of the AME's on/in the hanger. I am getting use to this web site. It would be something if they are buddies and you and I are Navy mom e-mailors.
I teach Pre-K and I think I have heard of that publishing co. for school decor ect. I shop in a teacher store here in Mt. Juliet.
Changing the subject ---do you have a Blue Candle for your son Chip? We put a blue candle in sand Kurt.
Need to clase for now. Take good care.
Sincerely,
Kim K. MJ TN

Hi Claudia,
I was so excited to find your e-mail Thanks!! I just got home from school it was a good day.
Our son Kurt enjoyed their last port of call. We spoke with him Mon. A.M. Maybe there would be a good chance that our sons have met. Kurt should be in the same area of the ship as your son , Chip if I have his name correct. If you ever make it down to Nashville let me know.
I had my huband mail one more box to Kurt today. This is our first Christmas to not have him at home. We found a Navy Bible at Lifeway to put in with art work from my class and etc.
I have started teaching with a Thanksgiving theme so I guess I need to begin planning Thanksgiving.
Let 's keep in touch .
Take good care, thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

hi Claudia,
Thanks for leaving me an e-mail on my site. Where do you live in WV? My brother lives in Lewisburg and that is only 7 hrs. away from me.
I am also a teacher. I teach pre-k and I really enjoy it.
Our son Kurt is on the GW as I type. We have had contact with him and he sounds great.
He has been there since Sept. this year.
I am a new Navy Mom and so is my husband and his sisters.
It would be great to hear from you again. I am trying to find other Navy parents in our area however, it is not easy.
Take good care have a safe and fun weekend.

Hi Claudia!
I'm actually located about 20 minutes from West Point. and 10 minutes away from Camp Smith. Ft Drum is much further away from me. Currently I have one cousin that just deployed to Kuwait for the moment the is leaving for Afghanistan and her husband is being deployed for his 5th tour next month. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.. All I know is that without N4M's I would have never made it through BC or A School.

Military life is nothing new to me, my better half was in the AFSOC as a CCT for 24 years but it is always a lot more emotional I feel when it is your child and in this instance my one and only. However, he is happy and loving Japan so that is all that matters to me!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
