The nex does have a website. You can see it in google, however, you have to be a dependent or active duty in order to look at it and order off there, they make you enter your birthdate and social to prove your status.

Have your child go see a VITA rep on base, to get help doing his taxes. They are trained on what we can and can not deduct. I found above, on the IRS website.

Military uniforms. You generally cannot deduct the cost of your uniforms if you are on full-time active duty in the armed forces. However, if you are an armed forces reservist, you can deduct the unreimbursed cost of your uniform if military regulat…

Did he keep receipt's or pay for them with a Credit card? I would look there. If he is looking for how much he spent on his first set of uniforms, that was an allowance the Navy gave him, it was not out of his pocket.

Hi Cynthia, I have just heard from my Jared he is about ready to board to head back to GL. I let his Dad (my ex) take him back as I got to pick him up and I also knew that I would be an emothional Mom again. At least this time we can talk and text and Jared said he is going to hit up your Jared for info on getting a laptaop as he said your Jared got one just abit ago. I found another group on here that you might be interested in if your not in it already: GL A School Moms, it seems like alot of 803 left already for other A schools and I would love to keep in touch with those Moms with Sailors remaining at GL. Hope to hear from Moms and know how there guys are doing. Laura

Cynthia,
I was a bit disappointed with the Ramada Inn. Our room was on the second floor and they did not have an elevator. The part of the hotel we were in was a little old, but it was clean. I have some problems sleeping and sometimes have a hard time with different mattresses, but the bed was very comfortable. The free wi-fi internet was probably our determining factor and I was somewhat disappointed with that. We did not have frig, microwave, or anything other that a coffee pot. The Ramada is about 4 miles from the base and was not hard to get back and forth. Oh yea, the restaurant on site is expensive and the breakfast selection was not all that good. I have read lots of very good comments about the Navy lodge. If I had it to do again, I would make reservations there.

My husband is from Cologne, MN, anywhere near Blaine? We also lived in Waseca for 2 years before moving to Michigan. Katie has a PIR of 12/5 as well, but she is in Div 903 ship 06 and doing DC at GL after BC.

Hi Cynthia, my name is Missy and I am from Harris, Just 4 miles north of North Branch. My son has been in the Navy for 1 year now and is stationed in San Diego on the USS Ronald Reagan (Cornado Island). He will be returning to port at the end of November and we are driving his car down to him so he has it when is not out on the ship. If you have any questions just ask and if you don't mind I would like to add you to my friends list. Missy
