Hi DJ. I noticed you need to send a private message. You to to the page of the person you want to send a private message.Under the picture or icon on the upper Left click friend request. A box shows, you send it. When that person accepts the friends request you can communicate privately.
DJ I do not know about TSC. Where have you been sending his mail, what state? I would post that question in Ship 17 moms. More likely someone knows the answer. I see in googling that TSC means Tactical Support Center, but they are located in more than one location.
oops just read above he is in Great Lakes. We have the numbers for Legal posted on the top of Ship 17 Moms (now Ship 5) You could help speed the process calling there and expressing your concern for your son. Contacting the Ombudsman at Great Lakes also helps.
DJ some take 6 months to get processed out, but The norm is 2 to 4 weeks. He should see what they tell him in Legal. I think when they keep them 6 months that is to ensure they get health coverage. The psych discharges we have seen have processed out in about a month, give or take a week. Is he at Great Lakes?
Hi DJ. Welcome to Ship 17(5) Separations Moms. It usually takes a few weeks for them to get processed out. Meanwhile encourage him as best you can to hold on, and keep busy.
Welcome to Navy for moms, here you will find moms who have or are feeling the same way you do, and asking the same questions you are. We have a few “ole timers” who have multiple kids in the armed service, their education and experience is invaluable.
If you haven't stopped by the how did you find us thread, please do. Many, many moms have been there and are doing the same thing. There are even a couple of delayed entry moms kicking around. New Moms read first discussion will fill you in quick about those frequently asked questions.
The general forum has some great comments on mail, boot camp, phone calls, graduation and hotels and things to do while in Chicago at PIR. Feel free to add to the comments, or create your own. The moms have an empty nest group and discussions that has been a great help too many, and they get a little silly sometimes
There are groups, on the main page on the left. Boot camp is really popular but there are other groups some based on graduation dates, jobs, states, ships and other interests. You will fit in anywhere you chose; we are a nice bunch here.

Well, I thought we were making progess, but things have stalled. Luckily, my son is not a recruit so he is able to stay in his room, make phone calls to me daily etc.....but, he has still not seen legal and its just wait, wait, wait.....the stress of not knowing and waiting is taking a toll...........It's been 6 weeks now since the separation process started.....more waiting I guess
Well, my son is back in the hospital....the stress of not knowing what is happening to him seems to be getting the best of him. They will keep him a couple more days and then put him back to his regular routine....his commander and legal have no info for him and the doctors are baffled....seems there should be someone to ask what the status is, but I guess not. It's been 3 weeks now, and he has no idea if anything has even started getting processed.
My son was informed a few weeks ago by his doctor that he was going to be medically separated (discharged) due to depression/anxiety issues. We are accepting this news and will help him along, but we haven't been able to find out when/if he is being discharged. He is a sailor not a recruit so he won't be going to Ship 17 and I called Legal in the "A" school where he is and they have nothing on him....Does anyone know how to find out what his status is? His doctor said she sent in her recommendat… Continue
