Hi Denise, Tim is doing good. He took the train from San Diego up to Los Angeles and my nephew picked him up and he is spending the Thanksgiving weekend camping with my nephew and his family. Plus he got to see his grandparents Thursday night! Tim finishes A school on Decmeber 12th, comes home on Dec. 19th goes back on Jan 2nd. Then he will wait for Ops to begin. He has received his orders and will be on a destroyer based in San Diego. He is pretty happy about that. My husband and I drove down to Arkansas to spend Thanksgiving with our oldest son, his fiancee and her family. Is Dakota coming home for Christmas? How did you spend Thanksgiving?

Just checking in...how is Dakota doing? Tim has finished his second week of classes and it's not easy! So far he has passed both tests, thank goodness. Yesterday he went with the base to Sea World, he had the best time! Nothing makes a mom happier than hearing her son so full of joy. Write back when you can!

Hi Denise, No, we didn't really sight see. We went to the movies and White Castle, but that was about it. Tim just wanted to be in the room with us. Which was fine by me. Tim's A school classes started yesterday (Monday). He is very happy in San Diego. He's already received his cell phone, so no more calls from pay phones, YAY!! How is Dakota doing? Has his classes started yet?

I joined both PIR 10-24 and 10-31 in hopes he would be added to one of the PIR dates. Last I heard (comunication has really become bad since he was injured) he was concerned he might be seperated because his foot was not healing fast enough. He was very down because he just wanted to finish BC and get to A school. I have not heard from him since that letter.

Thank you for thinking of us :)

Thanks for the comment. Yep Derek won/earned? the MOAA leadership award. I got one of his pictures. They turned out well, but I had to laugh at the expression-or lack of- on his face.

Well, did you make to PIR? My husband and I couldn't make it ,but Katherine took pictures and is keeping us up to date. We did get a nice long chat with Derek. His bunkmate was also from Washington.

Hey, so I received a letter from Tim. He passed PFA's!!! He was studying for his last computer test and he said he was ready for BS!! I'm excited for our boys, I think they are going to love BS. Keep your fingers crossed that they will get to call in the morning instead of the afternoon. How are you doing? Well, they've started BS already, I know they are all going to pass!!!

Hey Denise, so you think if they mess up tomorrow night, they will be allowed to try again on Thurs? I'm sure they will do just fine, it's just the fear of not knowing until we get there. So guess what, I have an infection in one of my teeth that has been very painful, so instead of getting excited, I'm just trying to feel better so when I get I don't feel like crap!! I'm on antibiotics so hopefully it will be better before we leave. I so wish that our sons had already done BS! I will be praying for them!!!
