Wow, what is up with that?? :-) Derek was on FB this morning with us. We got a very nice chat in. It is amazing how your day just goes so much better when you hear from them. Look me up on facebook. It would be easier to chat on there.

You too! Did you hear from Ashley? We of course did NOT here from Derek. We did get all his Christmas gifts this weekend though. I think I am going to send him a pack of post it notes that say, "call home" , "e-mail home", " write home" on the whole pack :-) When does Ashley come home for leave?

Derek called tonight. FINALLY! He got a phone apparently. Does Ashlee have one? Are you able to call her on it? If so, what plan do you use from the States? Anyway, he couldn't talk long because we think he might have been on duty when he called.

Thank you very much. And thanks to Ashley for being a good detective. I swear if it wasn't for your updates we would have no clue as to what is going on. He is a good kid, but a terrible communicator! I just wish he would send his little brothers an e-mail. They miss him so much. I am getting ready to send a package of candy out to them. His little brothers (with some help from my students) want to send them some of their Halloween candy.

We send a package every couple of weeks with the same kind of stuff. I just can't think of anything special to send that 1. he will have room for 2. isn't too expensive 3. will mean something. I guess we are on the hear from him once a month plan. Because once again, it has been a month. Maybe we will hear more now that they will be on base for while.

What are you doing for Ashlee for Christmas? I am at a total loss for Derek. I always do a home made gift for him (which are usually his favorite), but what on earth can they have on the ship? Any ideas store bought and/or home made?
