About me:
My son Tyler is on the DEP and is scheduled to leave for Boot Camp on Novermber 17th. I have 1 son (tyler), 1 dog (jack) and 1 cat (star). I have a job that I love most days. Tyler and I been alone since he was 2 and we have grown up together so the thought of him leaving for the Navy is really tough. The longest we have ever been apart was 4 weeks when he went to the Marine Military Academy at age 14.
I am here to support or represent my:
Tyler
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer

Dawn, what a handsome boy - sorry, Sailor. Will you be at the PIR also? Flanagan's? I can't wait. Tomorrow morning we're on the plane to head out of Phoenix at 11:30 and arrive in Chicago at 4:30. I am soooo excited. I'm glad 062 is doing well. I only received letters and one call :(. But I really give you credit to be able to let go. That's great and it's the best for him too. You've been a great mom staying single and just being a mom. I wasn't that good - ha!!! Should have been, but....... Well, hope to see you there and stay in touch. Where does Tyler go next? Daniel is heading to San Antonio for Master of Arms School. See you real soon hopefully, Chris

Dawn, if he is in DIV 062 then he PIR's this week. If there is a problem you will hear about it. Much of this training group is getting through very quickly. I believe it has to do with the fact that most of the scholls are getting ready to restart. The one's who PIR'd Christmas Eve got some leave time so they could wait on the groups PIR'ing last week and this week. It all depends on the Navy schedule. Think of it as less time in the miserable cold. I do know that this group of divisions and the group before and I believe next weeks goup are all "pushed" groups. They push em through quickly to get them on to school. We look forward to seeing you at Flanagan's on Thursday evening. I'm still waiting for my call from battle stations too. By the way we have a couple of other parents coming from the Houston area.

I wouldn't worry about it at all... obviously that's the division he's in, and that's when they're graduating.... but it does seem weird for recruits to arrive on the same day yet be on different PIR's...

Wow - that is odd... James is in Div. 909, he arrived late on the 17th and was the first wave in his division. We were expecting him to grad on the 23rd - thought he'd have a whole week of hurryin' up and waiting to get started...

Glad you go to Adopt your own kid LOL!! Enjoy PIR this week then...

Hi Dawn - haven't seen too much activity - are you heading to PIR on the 15th? I'm staying @ Navy Lodge w/ James' girlfriend.

There's a group PIR 1/15/09 - quite the chatty bunch LOL - their goal is to hit 10,000 comments before PIR - I think they're closing in on 7,000 right now.

Also, have you heard about Bridge City? It is a small town about 15 - 20 miles from me. Out of over 3500 houses only less than 20 were without damage. Most of it from flooding and most did not have flood insurance (not in flood zone).
Very sad - looting, mud, snakes, ugh!!!

sorry dawn I had to go back to work...sorry about the short message...is your son already down with BC or is he there now? Mine is chomping at the bit to get there.....all of his friends have left for college and he is feeling a little left out!! I am in no hurry for him to go but understand y he feels that way. even his best friend that joined the army reserves left before him. he actually returns about 2 weeks before joe leaves. thank God!!! If the two of them missed each other before joe left there would be no living with them. they have been inseperable since they were 4! so it is odd....one navy and one army...those boys always in competition lol hope to talk to u soon. if u need anything please let me know. janet
