Good morning all!!! Is everyone getting excited about PIR on 3/20??!!! I KNOW I CAN'T WAIT!!! Does anyone know if it is done inside or outside and what the weather is usually like. Coming all the way from NY so want to be prepared..

About me:
Married for 20 years with 4 children; 3 boys and 1 girl. Our oldest graduated from high school and after completing one year of college and trying Army ROTC, came home and told us that it wasn't for him. Has since joined the Navy with his best friend and is training for Navy Seals.

Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
My son has become a man. He will always be my first and always momma's little boy (even thoguh he stands 6'3"), but he has grown into a fine young man, who is capable of making his own decisions in this world. We raised him right and seeing the man he has now become has only made me prouder of who he is.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

hi there how is that Sailor of yours doing? are you joining us for Fleet week BBQ? trying to figure things out -who is travel from our area - 1 day or 2 - overnight or day trips? your thoughts? & rsvp? here's my handsome lacrosse dude :) This was last weekend's game.

Did your son mention anything about being able to stay all weekend? Chase did, he said an instructor said that, but I told him not to get his hopes up - at ALL.

Where are you guys staying?

And our boys will be up front - yours leading and mine carrying the ships flag!!

YES!!! Chase knew exactly who he was (right down to a "certain" lacrosse "mark"..LOL My youngest, he's 13, just started lacrosse and is an amazing natural at it. It's not really be around long in this area.

I got a call also and I agree the reception SUCKED. I had just had my wisdom teeth out via iv sedation and was on valium...so you can imagine how that conversation went with him being exhausted and me doped up! He said everything was awesome and that the next week they will be shining boots with toothbrushes:)

Where does your son go next? Chase thought he'd have a month hold , but found out it will only be a week unitl he starts pre-class there at GL.

hi there best to you guys. when you are back from PIR lets get together with the local moms! glad he is well - we are ok - it has been insane - my father in law really sick - dad brought mom home from the nursing home so very stressful here - anyway we got tattoos tonight so mine the size of a dime -- was such anticipation i almost fainted haha! hubbys is 1/2 his arm!! HAHA.. talk soon, L
