About me:
I am a proud mom to three beautiful children ages 21, 19, and 16. The hardest part about being a mom so far is letting go. Does it ever get easier? I believe in the things that are important to my children and giving them the opportunity to grow and experience life to the fullest. So, I find myself on this web page because my oldest son has enlisted in the US NAVY. I am so very proud and so very scared.
I am here to support or represent my:

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am still very new at this so I continue to learn new things everyday.

Hi there Deb,
Heard from Erin tonite, he and Charles are moved into their new barracks across the street. Not sure how far Charles' room is from Erin's but Er went to NEX and Galley with Charles today. Sounds like they have it pretty easy compared to BC. Had the evening free tonite. Says he has onbase liberty after work hours while they wait for school to start. But, also said not sure what will happen until it happens (his impression is that he will have onbase liberty after work hours, but you know how that can go). After the long PIR Liberty weekend they got to sleep a whole 10 hours on Mon and Tues. Oh, it was so thrilling to see them changed into military men. He was borrowing a shipmates cell phone to call and was going to call his girlfriend next and have her come over and ship some things to him. Good, she can do the collecting of the items and shipping. It will give her something to do. She does work and go to school, but since we've been back she has been down in the dumps cuz he is there and she is here. Well gotta go, time for bed. Hope Charles is enjoying the extra free time and I am sure both of them do not miss the RDC's yelling at the division day and night! Talk to you later. Betty

I haven't had a call since jan. 7th. But his letters keep coming. We don't get letters until Thursdays (probably Friday this week since there was no mail on Monday). I am an official mail lady stalker!! Div 912 seems to be doing well and getting their act together too. Only 16 days until we can HUG them!

Hi Debbie,
So was Charles feeling better on Saturday when you talked to him? I am glad you talked to him! I hope he was feeling better. They will get through it, I am sure. Yes, I would imagine the div has a long way to go for passing PT, but I read that by this week, their muscles are not very sore, and they are much stronger than when they started. We seem to always get our letters on Wednesdays, so am looking forward to tomorrow-Wednesday! yippee. Hope it is a nice long letter. I have to write him yet tonite. Am going to do that right now, as I am feeling bad that I missed several days while visiting family. Talk to you later.

Hi Debbie.
I was out of town and was not able to check my computer for the last 4 days. Nice pics Debbie. Last time I was on your page there were no pics, I think you were having trouble with your computer and it took awhile for you to get all set up on N4M due to computer probs.
I missed Erin's phone call cuz I was visiting family in Ohio when he called. But, my husband told me all about it and he sounds like he is fine, and things are not so rough on the Div anymore, as they were. I am still trying to write him almost every day, but missed a few days while traveling. Wow, it is not very far away before PIR, can you believe it? It will be so great. How is Charles doing the last week. He must have got a little TV time in and rest when he got his wisdom teeth out. Good, they need a little break, don't they. Take care. Gotta go and unpack and get ready for work tomorrow. Talk to you later. Betty

Hi Debbie,
I love this site too. Are you coming to the meet and greet on the 5th at Flanagan's. What is your son's job classifacation? They should have classified last week. Mine went in as a nuke, but nothing is set in stone until they classify at BC.

HI Debbie, Welcome to the site! I am so excited about Wednesday being just around the corner. As you are aware, we are expecting letters on or about Wednesdays since we were told they get some down time on Sundays to write. My son had NEVER written to me previous to his experience at BC. So, it was real different to get a few letters from him and exciting to hear from him. I bet they are doing lots better this last week at BC. It is suppose to get lots better in third week and I believe this is the 3rd week for both of them. I am writing Erin today to understand if he knows Charles well and let him know Aunt Tracey, Charles' mom and I have been communicating by Navy4Moms. I asked him before in a letter, but forgot the city that Charles was from. I know now. Gonna sign off for now. I have to get on the stick and figure out where we are staying in Great Lakes (PLAN B if PLAN A doesn't work out for us.)Will also try to motivate mate (Man-boy) to assist with researching Plan B.
