Welcome Aboard Debbie,

Come on over and join the Colorado group. It a great place to meet new friends and receive support. Here is an upcoming event you might be interested in, it would give you the opportunity to meet other Colorado parents.

Here is the information I put out on the Colorado Love Box Party. Sure hope you can join us.

It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.

Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.

Hope to see lots of your smiling faces 

Hey Debbie, thank you for your prayers. I sent my son a goodie box about two weeks ago. Two day priorty mail and he had not received it. By the time he received it, 8 days-tatally mangled. I cried as he was worrying about picking up all the cookie crumbs. I would have to deliver him a basket.(smile). Thanks for your prayers. They are always appreciated. I pray for all our military, family and friends, and I am so greateful for all they have sacrificed to do for us. Have a nice evening, have fun. ttyl.

Good afternoon Debbie9292~~the auction sounds great. I remember when my sailor went to the military academy, they were always having things like that for their football team. Don't I miss that, enjoy! I am doing good, thanks for asking. It is countdown to my son graduating A school. I have mixed emotions about not being there. he did not want us to come. Says he just gets a piece of paper, then he starts C school that Monday following. Sometimes my husband and kids don't understand things are important to a woman, such as a milestone.I consider this one of them. My husband retires the same day from work and I am not sure if my son sacraficed us coming to support Dad. I guess I will never know. I am fine. The site is quite during the day. I look for friends to talk with. I am glad you like my page. It was easy, just graphics-and yea, you have to put family pictures on as we love pictures. Is your recruit talking a lot about the navy? My son talked about it alot-but at another time I was sure he was not going to go, but go to college. I am happy as long as he is happy. Did you happen to catch At Sea on the military channel? I saw it and found it to be amazing-yet it made me think, it made me think a lot. All that water and what they do-well I am praying about it daily. Ihope you have a great week and fun at the auction. I know when my son comes home for the Labor Day weekend, he will play at least all day on Sunday with all his buddies from school and his brothers. Have a great evening.

Hey again. Swimming, running, football, all good to practice on. My son also loves football. I was worried about the swiming as well. But he passed. I saw the At Sea, on the Military channel the last couple nights- the last comes on tonight-really interesting. Any kind of excercise is good. The recruiter should have given him a manuel. My son was always active in sports, etc. Hated an ounce of fat on his body. He also always ate healthy and good food. If he had to eat out, it was from a real place to eat and not fast food. Well I am here, as you see I love to chat away. tty.

Good morning. Thanks for sharing about your son. I wish him the best in making his decision. My son went to a military academy for high school and sorta knew the layout and was prepared. His Commadant was navy and I was kind of shocked he followed through---- navy, LOL. He is the first in my family to be navy, so it is new to all of us. A and C schools are schools they go to after bootcamp to study and learn the trade they signed for. You can google a lot of these things. This site is so chock full of information. As you join a group or two, or three, you will learn a lot. But read the blogs and discussions and get to know the site. The videos are also informative. I will keep your son in my prayers to make the right decision. Please keep in touch and let me know what happens. My son is due to graduate A school in 9 days and I am nervous. I have prayed and continue praying he in fact makes the cut. He has been through a lot since leaving home and I know he misses us and his three brothers. We are happy we are in a position to text, call, email every day/night and check up on him We give him the opportunity and the time to talk, vent, be happy, whatever he may be going through. One thing, he is a strong, determned 19 year old that I am so proud of. We know he has been in a new life and it can be hard and sometimes may feel he wants to turn back, as he is not really use to all the rules, all day, all night and being limited. He chose a specialty rate and is top classified security, which comes with a lot of responsibility. I as his mother was not sure he was ready for FBI type secrecy at 19-too much on the brain to handle alone. But I am only him mom and he knows what he has gotten himself into and I can do nothing but be proud. He is the younger of 4 boys and the only one to serve, which took me out- by the way-my BABY, LOL, the sweetest of them all. But this kid was destined for greatness and I can only be there for him and respect his choice. It was a great move-now I waiting for him to serve and come back home to us. Have a wonderful Day and I will keep you guys in my prayers. ttyl.
