My son Lester is a QM3 (Quartermaster, third class petty officer). His ship is the USS Ramage (ddg61). He's floating around somewhere overseas and is due back in April. (Not soon enough)

For families and friends of Sailors who are stationed at Norfolk; for either Sea Duty or Shore Duty Sailors. Just make sure to keep OPSEC issues in mind and not disclose ship movements in advance.

My husband tries, even with Anthony, but Anthony's father hasn't had much to do with him his whole life. So he is really down on fathers. But my husband does try, and sometimes he does help. I raised Anthony on my own, with my parents help, til I met my husband....Anthony was 7 then.

It is so good to talk to someone who understands. My husband (not Anthony's father) is here for me, but he just doesn't understand.

Thank you! I am very proud of him. I just miss him so much. Even though he is still in the states for now....I feel like a part of me is missing. I recently quit my job, and am looking for a new one. One where I can spend more time with my little one who is 6. I am so scared for Anthony going to Afghanistan.

My son is not on a ship. He is going to Floriday in April, the Afganistan in June. It is killing me. Where is your son now?

About me:
I am the aging gracefully, left behind pet caretaker, storage coordinator, e-mail specialist proud mother of a US Navy sailor! I spend some my time sitting on pins & needles waiting for that e-mail that lets me know he's okay and praying for his safe return home. The rest of the time I spend chasing my 18 month old grandson, Lucas and impatiently waiting for the birth of my new granddaughter, Mia!
I am here to support or represent my:

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How to fill the hollow space in my heart that is left behind everytime he ships out. Actually, I'm still learning that!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was the best decision he/she could have made
