Yes everyone on board has a copy of the Homecoming Reunion guide. They will also have a chaplain coming on board to speak with them on what we call a R&R. Which means a Return and Reunion. I hope your doing well, and it won't be much longer until you see your son :D
Yes i do have ALOT of friends on here..It is impossible to keep up with them all. Most of them have come and gone on here. Ya know the sailor goes through BC and then the moms gone...well until deployment, but thats ok..thats what we are here for.
Thank you for your "very" kind gesture!
WOW...that came from your heart ..Thank GOD they wont' need it.
Will you be at the homecoming??
xoxoxoxo♥
My son definitely knows your son. I consider your son one of the most important people on this deployment! He's one of the fellas that keeps those helos in tip top shape and flying safely. That is Soooooooo important to me. This group makes a great team and have to depend upon each other for the success of each mission flight. As a mother, I have had more than a few nightmares thinking about Guy flying the only helo over water with no back up helo to fly rescue if something happens. They've had a few "interesting" flights that I know of that have given me the willies......I'm sure there are more that never get reported to the Moms. We can be very proud our our fellas in DET TWO. They are doing a great job and are having a very successful mission.
Yes, my husband and I plan to be there when the ship returns. Guy is hoping to fly the helo off the ship but we won't know until time gets closer. Can't say exactly when they are coming home....but it is very close to the original date.
This has been a tough time for us and for Guy since his grandfather died last week. He tried to arrange to come home for the service this weekend but it was going to be too difficult to make arrangements and the Navy couldn't guarantee he'd make the flight even if we could make the flight reservations. We did have several long conversations with him when they were last in port and the folks at the squadron have been very supportive. Guy was extremely close to his grandfather. When he was 20 he spent the summer in Wyoming taking care of Grandpa, making sure he ate right and took his meds (Parkinsons disease). Not many 20 year olds would go out of their way to find a job a thousand miles from home near his grandparent so he could take care of him every day. I'm glad that Guy was able to visit his grandfather just before he took off on this deployment.
We plan to have an inurnment service at Arlington National Cemetery when Guy gets home. He'll be able to participate in that.
We just drove from AZ to WY and now to Henderson, NV for the memorial service this weekend.
It will be great to see him in SD real soon. We shall look for you there !
