About me:
I am a Houstonian and so are my 2 girls that are in the Navy. My oldest , 22, has been in since August 08, is stationed in Norfolk VA and is on deployment right now. She has a twin brother who lives in Houston. My middle daughter, 20, is currently at boot camp and graduates Feb. 12, 2009. I also have a 12 year old daughter. I like to work out, play racketball, and go out on occasion. I am so proud of my girls. Rachel has transformed into an awesome, independent, strong woman.
I am here to support or represent my:

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
If you have any questions during the whole process the recruiters can usually answer them and ease your mind. To have the reassurance that what they are doing is going to forever change their life for the better and because of that I had the strength to "let go" of them and let them make their own path.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

I live in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky - We are staying at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan - It has an indoor pool and Ben has a 4 year old daughter that loves to swim!!!! It's only about 3 miles from base and seemed like a nice place.
Have you made your reservations yet? Make sure that you try to go to the meet and greet event at Flanagan's - it;s a sports bar near that base and you get to meet some of the Moms and their families that have recruits graduating on Feb. 13 - it is held the night before at 6:oo. We are driving from Kentucky (it's about 7 hours) so I am going to try to leave early enought to get there in time. Hve you gotten a phone call this week from your daughter yet? My son said in a letter that I got yesterday that he should be calling this week.....

I am running days behind but am trying to get to all new members... so will try to catch up tonight.
Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings. What beautiful girls and also Welcome From Texas.
