Hi Sue - As far as I know, nobody can access your son's info unless he signs a waiver. When my son was in Ship 17, his Dad was out of the country. When he returned, he called Misty in legal and was told that they couldn't give him any info because...

Hi Kalisha! I'm so glad to hear that he's finally going to be coming home! Kevin is doing well, although he's disappointed that he didn't make it through BC. I guess he just wasn't meant to be in the Navy and there's something better out there fo...

Hey Kalisha- My son just came home from Ship 17 a week ago and said he knew your fiancee. (If his name is Robert). He said (although you probably know already) that he heard that Robert would be home no later than March 2. He said they hung out an...

Hey Debbie - I don't know how it works, but I'm sure that there's someone here who can answer that question. My son was sent home last week with anxiety issues, so he won't be continuing on, but congratulations to your son and the other recruits c...

I am soo sorry this is happening to you and your son. The mothers in Ship 17 have really good advise and seem to be in the know.

I apploize I don't know what comes next regarding when Sailors get discharged while in bootcamp.

You might want to check with Rose R in ship 17 group. I have seen the info she puts out and it is really good.

Keep your chin up!

Sorry, never had a chance to respond to your last comment. Things come up sometimes and then I run out of time. I hope you were able to figure out your settings or whatever the problem was.

Denise, I just finished reading your discussion about your son's journey from DEP to BC, what a roller coaster! Usually we say that about Boot Camp, but I have a feeling it'll all be downhill and feel smooth after all that!

However, Wanda P is absolutely right. You need to join the following Group ASAP:

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms

That is where you will learn the meaning of more terms and acronyms, find out your PIR date, and most importantly connect with Mom whose Recruits are going through at the same time as yours. You will find ones with your same PIR date and even with Recruits in the same DIV as your son. There is usually Groups formed for each of those and there is also a N4Ms Meet and Greet planned for the Thursday night before PIR so you can meet your online friends prior to the ceremony and celebrate together! :-) Don't miss out on all the support, information and new friendships waiting you!

Also, don't forget to use your search box to find prior discussions and answer to your questions. (Like yes, it's the precautionary norm for most Recruits to have their wisdom teeth pulled) Browse our PIR forum for info on GL, hotels, car rental etc. Finally, since your son has decided on being a Nuke, at least for now, you should go to the members box, make it alphabetical and look for Karen Gallegher. She has is the resident Mom face of N4Ms three nuke sons! You will also find a Nuke moms group to join on her page. Best wishes to Kevin, your soon to be Sailor! =)
