Profile Information

About me:
I am a mom of of young man that had listed in the Navy before he was even 18. It broke my heart the day he left. He has been in for 10 years now. I dont get to see him much. We do talk on the phone alot. I live on the west coast and he is on the east. I have another child Sebrina she is here on the west cost. Close but not on top of me. I have a beautiful granddaughter that is turning 1 next week. My sonMichael has not blessed me with a granchild yet. But thats ok he isnt ready. Someday

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am not really sure what to put here. Dont know if the things I have learned is form being a Navy mom or just a mom. Michael is having a hard time with trying to advance right now. He needs some hands on training and there is no where for him to get it where he is. He just told me yesterday that if he stays where he is it is hurting him. He is also looking at his personal life and if he pushes to leave that will be hurt and he is worried that he can end up in a worse place than he is now. I wish I can understand how the navy can take a person & set them up to fail. Michael said he has to take the advancement test if he doesnt pass that after he is done with the next 4 years he will be kicked out. The guys will have 14 years in. How can they do that to a person that has given them almost 1/2 their life. I guess this is what I need to learn. I am learning that I cant fix a broken heart or what the Navy does.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

My son is in my thought

I was sitting here trying to figure out what a blog way. I guess after reading some I can say I still don’t know. I was thinking it was your thoughts. I looked online and that didn’t help. But ya know it’s all good. So ok maybe someone needs to just read something. Setting home bored nothing to do.

I'm not trying to be rude at all, but if you don't like what I pos then please, don't read it, and don't post back on it.
This site is for people to discuss the Navy, yes, and how they feel about it, but coming from the point of view of someone married to someone in the military, it's nice to talk about something besides the military for awhile.

According to his paper work he was dicharged because of false information, plus they said he was not mature enough. I know that does not make sense. I remember, he got out due to eronious information. When he got depressed he went to the dr. in great lakes and he told them that he had adhd when he was 4 yrs old and took ritalin. That was my brother not him. The doctor there asked my son if he had any suicidal thoughts, in which he said yes. He was just really bad homesick. I know alot of people who have had those thought but never did anything. My dad retired from the Navy and my son wants to get back in to make it his career. His recruiter will not sign off on the paper work to let him back in so I had to call the legal aid office on the Navy Base here. I just want him to get back in. He will have to go through boot camp again because he did not complete it the first time. Im just trying to get information on how long it will take. I guess being a mom you want what is best for your child.
