Hello Devon! I love it, another recruit! I would say that when my son went through boot, he said that for the first 4 weeks they didn't even know his name. He kept his mouth shut and did what he was told. I'm not saying you should be like that, but don't get caught up in all the crappy behavior of the ones that really don't want to be there. Sounds like you will be great! Keep yourself in good physical shape, get plenty of rest before you go, and good luck to you! GO NAVY! HOOYAH!

I went through Basic training when I was 20 - my son finished Boot camp in April - My advice;
Keep a positive attitude, and a sense of humor - you will meet lots of different kinds of people - they all have something you can learn from. Do your best and don't sweat the mistakes - thats how you learn. It will be hard sometimes but it is supposed to be. You can do anything for 2 months.........you will have some freedom again after this.Write letters - they will be good for the records later! Let me know how it goes...........if you can!

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I have been involved in JROTC which has tought me a lot about the things to expect. I have learned that
Work is What you put into it, Learn to enjoy what you do. While learning discipline, learning chain of command and leadership skills is one of the largest impact.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Soon to be Navy Bound

I only have 13 more days till i leave for boot, very excited in a different perspective.
My biggest thing that im doubting is recieving lots of mail from the outsiders who my mother keeps intouch with, If you have any suggestions about changing my mind that would be great.
Also if you have any prior advice to bootcamp that would be greatly appreciated..
