Hi Diane- Scotty initially wanted to be a SEAL initially, but qualified for EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and decided to stick with that. He has mentioned Aviation Ordnance recently as an alternative to EOD. That works for me!

Hi Diane,  Scott is probably going to Pensacola also.  It is 11 hours from here- we already have it mapped out!  It depends on his qualification- he could not dive qualify because of dental surgery.

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings

Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Not to send any care packages to him during Basic. I already knew to encourage and support him.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Commissioning ceremony for the USS George H.W. Bush

I'm watching the commissioning ceremony on cspan and the pride is welling up. All the sailors in their winter blacks running on to the ship. What an event! I know there is a mom out there who's daughter is station on the ship, I read a post somewhere on the site. I've said a quick prayer for you both as I think of you. I know the daughter is one of the sailors running around now on deck bringing the ship to life as commanded.

Good luck and best wishes and prayers to all 5,500 Navy personnel abo… Continue
