Profile Information

About me:
I'm a wife of 27 years, Jeff my hubby is my best friend. I'm a mother of three beautiful kids. Becky is 25, in college in San Diego. Mike is 23 on The USS Ronald Reagan, ABH3-Crash & Salvage Div. on the fight deck, out of San Diego and Amy is 20 and she also is in college in San Diego. All three of our kids will be living in the same town. My father was in the Air Force so that makes me a AF Brat too. USS Ronald Reagan Homecoming 11/25/2008
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Not talking to him while out on Deployment, and not talking about where he and the ship is...USS Ronald Reagan - Far away
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
A Sailor's Poem
I am a small and precious child, my dads been sent to fight.
The only place I'll see his face, is in my dreams at night.
He will be gone too many days for my young mind to keep track.
I may be sad, but I am proud. My daddies got your back.
I am a caring mother. My son has gone to war..
My mind is filled with worries that I have never known before.
Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black.
I may be scared, but I am proud..My son has got your back..
I am a strong and loving wife, with a husband soon to go.
There are times I'm terrified in a way most never know.
I bite my lip, and force a smile as I watch my husband pack..
My heart may break, but I am proud..My husbands got your back..
I am a Sailor..Serving Proudly, standing tall.
I fight for freedom, yours and mine by answering this call.
I do my job while knowing, the thanks it sometimes lacks.
Say a prayer that I'll come home. It's me whose got your back.

Hi, I posted a blog last month regarding our sending holiday cheer to the Nimitz Strike Group. If you're still interested in helping, please let me know what you would like to send. Most are sending stockings w/ candy or goodie bags w/ treats from home. Thanks, Pat

So sorry that I was scattered last night... my sailor had just shocked me by walking through the door! Sure doesn't happen often! Was nice to have a chat with him and get a hug or two in! Wish he could have stayed longer than 30 minutes! But I take what I get!

Please give me a call tonight when you have time! Have a wonderful day!

Hi Diane, Thanks for being my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to you right now. My step daughter leaves for BC on January 20, 2010 in GL. I'm very, very, proud of her and scared at the same time. Her dad and I are so proud she chose the Navy for a path to take. Drop me a line when ever you have time. your friend Pam (Alexis step-mom)

I did hear that all your tests came back good, I think maybe it was on facebook. It was a big relief, I don't want to hear of anyone having anything to do with cancer ever again. I always wonder if there is more of it or we just have better diagnosis. I can't even pretend to know what you went through waiting for the results.

I am planning on Tiger cruise, got all my forms in and am waiting for their doctors to approve. My cardiologist and regular doctor signed off so I think it will be fine. I can tell my son is excited for me to come just by his emails! It's a good feeling since I read all the time about parents trying to get their kids to approve them or invite them, etc. Sometimes i just want to say, "You raised them!!!" Last year my son's dad was supposed to go, had the forms in and everything and at the very last minute he spent his money on fixing his boat instead, he's such a jerk! I am looking forward to meeting you and Marianne T. I feel like I've known both of you for a long time!!

Diane, my prayers and thoughts are with you right now. I hope you get great news and get it really soon so the waiting can be short. I know you have a strong and close family but there are a lot of us that haven't even met face to face that consider you a friend and we're here for you too.

This is the 2nd time my son has been on the ship but his first long deployment. I am looking forward to having him come back - its hard not to speak to him almost daily. Guess I better get used to it.
