Glad to know that I am not the only one that still thinks he is "still my little baby" and not an adult. I tell my son, "moms always worry".

lol! I love these little blogs. Makes me realize that I am, afterall, a normal mom. So next time my daughter says "Mom, I'm just doing my job" as she deploys out to get the boogyman on her big bad destroyer, I'll be sure to reply "Yes, and so am I."

That is funny! I did almost the same thing: When my son got back from iraq, he had a lot of money in the bank. Of course, one of his primary purchases was a new car (BRAND NEW 2009) He had never before owned a car and actually just got his drivers l…

While on leave, my son and his wife went to the beach. He called to tell me they were going snorkeling..... I actually replied with "Be careful out there in the water" - His reply....Mom, the Navy has taught me a little about the ocean.

I finally learned all the words to Anchors Aweigh - I suprised my family by singing it and actually knowing the correct words - My son always tells me he could explain but then he'd have to kill me...just a joke!

I found the coolest solar light for my garden. It was at Ace Hardware - It is a rock with the Navy logo on it with to US flags on either side. It glows the Navy logo at night. It was only $15.00 - they also had Marines, Air Force and Army.

Hi, Donna. Thanks for your warm welcome when I first joined Navy for Mom's. My son is at Great Lakes boot camp. It's almost been 4 weeks, and we finally received a letter today from him. We were so excited to finally have some contact with him. So you lived in Houston. We live in Victoria about 120 miles south of Houston. The only time we go to Houston is to see the Astro's play. My husband says it time to go, because they're playing good right now. My daughter and her family live here in Victoria, which is great because I can see my grandchildren everyday. I have a sister and her husband that live in Sweetwater, TN. Thanks again for your first note. Take care.

Hi Donna, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley, has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT. What will your son/daughter be doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
