Proud Mom of new sailor. He graduated boot camp on June 12th, and A school on September 15th. He is currently waiting for his duty station orders. The Navy has made a very positive change in his life and I am very thankful for that. He stands confident and even appears to be taller than before. I can not remember ever seeing him happier, and I thank God for this.

I'm very happy for you that you finally get to see your son!! Jason is still underway right now for another week, and unfortunately he won't be able to come home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. So, I'm trying to arrange everything so that I can spend time with him in VA before he deploys again. Hopefully Tim will be out of Meridian soon, I know that his visit at home will be a nice breath of fresh air for him!

I know what you mean by not trying to get your hopes up, but I really hope you get to see your son soon! Even if his security clearance doesn't go through before Thanksgiving, I'm sure he can still take leave. It will just be for a few days rather than weeks. Where is Tim heading after Meridian?

Donna- It said on my page that you left me a comment the other day but it's not showing up? Hope you're doing well!

Hi Donna! So much has changed since I last chatted with you. I'm sorry to hear that Tim is still in Meridian. Jason was also on hold there for almost 3 months. The day to day worrying of whether "today is the day" tends to wear down your spirits. The day after the wedding Jason went back to Meridian and within 4 days his security clearance went through! He is stationed on the USS Eisenhower in Norfolk, VA. His ship is currently underway right now. I feel like I'm having the bootcamp experience all over again. It seemed very convienent to me that is security clearance came through exactly 2.5 weeks before he was to report to Norfolk before the ship departed. When he returns from being underway, I will go to Norfolk to spend some time with him before he deploys again for 7 months.

Hi Donna,

I so enjoyed meeting you and Miranda last night! It was wonderful to chat and get to know each other. We were thrilled by a call today!! His division had the highest test score and were allowed a call home! All is well---a virus is spreading around but they are on the mend now! He said he will stay in Great Lakes for 18 months for A school. He sounded good and happy. Dad and I will sleep well tonight.

Hope you will stay in touch and we can meet again!

Hi Donna,

I found out that Anna lives in Cary! What do you think about meeting at Perkins...that should be easy for her to find.

Love your pictures! How many kids do you have? I have a daughter, she will be 15 in Sept.

Have a GREAT weekend!

His PIR is Sept. 25th and we are excited and making plans! Dave and I have not had a call or letter yet...it's amazing how often I check the mail. I found 3 others with the same PIR so we are sharing information.

I would love to have coffee...I only work 1-2 days a week so I am pretty flexible. Do you have time next week?
