My sailor will be spending the holiday away from home, again. Last year he was in GL for boot and this year on the Bush. I wish we could go see him and spend time with him there. If it wasn't for our "zoo", we would've went for the weekend.

Tina- I too have been "awol" from here. Been busy with family and my candle business. I too am very sorry to hear of your news. I am praying for him and his family in the upcoming months that lay ahead for him.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Not really a "new" Navy mom. I've got a son who's been in since 2004 and is an AT3 stationed in WA state. I'm very proud of my two sons for enlisting and will stand behind them all the way.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Chris and Joe

I was very thrilled to have both of my boys home this holiday season. Chris came home from WA state with his wife, Kristine and their daughter Ariyanna. This was her first Christmas and our first with a new granddaughter. Joe just completed boot camp in Great Lakes and graduated as an E2 and has completed A school in Pensacola for ABF. Chris has new orders to VAQ 140 and Joe to the USS George H.W. Bush. We still have Tamara at home since she's on her way to becoming a TEENAGER ( God help me).

I heard a sayong once "we are only as happy as our saddess child". I am sorry to read that things are not going well right now. I am thinking of you and hope that this situation passes soon. I think the all the sailors are just not busy enough with the ship in the yard.

Im Sorry to hear he don't like his ship, I know dani said that there are a lot of people on the ship that have been sick the whole time and she has a bad head cold. The headaches he is getting is from the dry air on the ship, tell him to get some plain Saline nose spray and see if that helps. Hope things get better for him. He can sign up for temp assinment to another ship but he has to go through his commanding officer

Hey Elizabeth!
I see your oldest is Chris too...and it looks like he's still stationed in Whidbey Island, WA. That's where my Chris is now! He was suppose to attend C school once he got there in April but it's been canceled so he's going straight into his rate which is ATI. He'll be attached to a squadron but I don't know which one yet. What does your Chris do up there and did you say he's going somewhere else soon? I know if your like me you'll want him to be stationed here in Jax close to home. Let me hear from you. I hope to get to one of those luncheons again soon. Take care.
