Hi! Can you recommend some good restaurants down there? I want to have a great visit with my daughter because we haven't seen her for over 5 months. :(

My daughter graduates from A school on July 24th. She is in class 0921 MT. The Navy villas are all filled up for the summer and the Air Force Base only allows reservations for their villas 3 days before when you need one. Does anyone know what their…

He is in indoctrination now, so no class number. I forget how long it takes them to get through indoc and get a designated class. I can't help you with your other questions, but I do know that they are all very busy and that my daughter rarely calls.

Here's some pictures that we took of your family at the meet n greet. We're heading to Pensacola next weekend to spend with Justin again. This should be a better visit since he's in the 2nd phase with liberty until 10pm. I told him to ask his commander and see if he couldn't get full liberty to stay with his family but he's hesitant to do that (he doesn't like doing any more than what he knows about). Enjoy the pictures.

It worries me too about Briana's spending habits-money burns a hole right thru her pocket into the sidewalk! lol But yes, gotta let go...

I Elizabeth, my memory challenges me sometimes. Were you at the same table with us with your husband, little girl and parents? I'd love to see some of your pictures on your page too-do you have any? My husband got a little carried away with taking pictures that weekend-we have tons and tons and I didn't want to spend the time adding them all. Maybe I will one day soon. We weren't going to go to the meet n greet because we were all beat that night since we only got about 1/2 hour sleep the night before but we were very happy that we went. We met some really great people and it's always nice to meet those with whom you have common interests. Shouldn't your daughter get that ear checked, like yesterday? I'm afraid that it could cause her further damage if she doesn't-what about you? I didn't know girls were that bad about going to the doc-our girls are too young to object. But, yes, our son and my husband are doc phobic.

So glad you heard from Emily! I am awaiting a call now to say she got her phone and laptop but nothing yet... I think she said some of them may go to Charleston today or tomorrow-there's a shuttle to the mall (LOL there goes their money!). Can't wait until I can call Briana whenever I want!

Elizabeth! Hello there! I hope by now you have heard from Emily. My daughter Briana is right there with her in Goose Creek-I think they may have all gone to McDonald's together today! Chris's son is also there and he was in their division too. I finally heard from Briana this evening-she said she was too tired to call last night as they got them up at 0200 to leave for the airport and they had been going ever since. She can't get over the free time she actually has now! It must feel something like being let out of prison or something! lol She also said now she can't stand to have anything messy (what have they done with MY daughter?!? heheh). Well, so far it has been an enlightening experience for all of us! Now I want to start some kind of planning towards getting to her A school graduation...hmm.... LOL-I haven't fully recovered from the PIR experience yet! Anyway, they are there safe and sound and that was my main concern.

Hi Elizabeth!

It is never to late to join a party! Please come even if you don't make it right a 6:00. We would really love to meet you and celebrate our SAILORS! Have a safe trip!

Good to hear from you! I am so excited I can barely type! It has been a long 8 weeks-at least that is one thing we can still rely on-the passage of time, eh? Briana did say that she would be around GL until Wed. I believe. We will leave on Monday. I don't even want to start thinking about saying goodbye again... I still have to find a red scarf or something-don't usually wear too much red (clashes with my hair!lol). I am hoping to get to Flanagan's but we are leaving a bit later than I thought so we'll see. At least most of this latest storm has been to the south of us. Sooo.... with any luck by this time day after tomorrow we'll be close to Chicago and close to our daughters! Be safe!

Elizabeth-Good to hear from you! You have a tough time, I can imagine with worrying about Emily-their pain is always ours also. You are coming a long ways! I hope the weather holds out for all of us. We are coming from down state Illinois, about 4 and a half hrs. I guess we are all just waiting for that last phone call sometime this week. BTW my daughter will also be in SC for nuke school!

Hi from me as well,
My son is also in Div 086! I also am glad you found your way here. In my son's most recent letter he mentioned that they would have 'a couple of days' between Battlestations and Graduation, so I was guessing Tue nite -Wed morn, but it sure could be that he meant Wed nite - Thurs morning. It makes sense that it would be later in the week that they are having Connie's daughter available to clean.
Are you coming to the meet and greet?
Where is your daughter headed after graduation?

Elizabeth-hello! My daughter, Briana, is also Ship 13, Division 086! I think you are the first mom I've met on here that has a girl in her division. Have you only just lately found out about this site? If that is the case, then I don't know how you made it thru the last weeks!? I think I would've thought myself certifiably insane if I hadn't started reading the posts here and seeing that what I felt was actually NORMAL for a mom with a kid lost to boot camp. If you have any questions or hear anything about the girls I am definitely interested! Did you get a phone call from Emily saying their battlestations was Wednesday? (I think that's what you said...) My daughter is what they call a "front loader" so she is taking most of the tests a week ahead of the others in the div (along with 2 other girls) and then these 3 get to clean up after their div takes their tests. LOL My daughter must becoming quite the cleaner! At any rate, email me thru here and let me know more about you! Connie

Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
it is all out of my hands... it is all up to her and her abilities.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
