About me:
As another Navy mom said, I too am happily married to my best friend of 32 yrs. We live in upstate New York near the Canadian border--the pretty part of NY, near the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. I love where we live because of the surrounding area, (ie. mtns., lakes, rivers, Canada), but I am not happy about nearly 6 months of cold! I am also a proud parent. Yes, I admit it, I am proud of my kids (all 5 of them)! Now, they aren't perfect, but they are learning about life in so many ways and making a good go at it in spite of the inevitable "fall on your face" times. The most recent learning about life "kid" is Kelly who has decided to enlist in the Navy. It took her nearly a year of searching all the military branches, while in college, to finally decide on the Navy. She just wasn't happy about staying in college even though she was doing really well grade wise. It took us (her Dad and I) a while to think about it, but the more we watched her take the steps to make sure of her decision we were more comfortable. We watched her mature just to make the decision to join and she included us in every step. She comes from a long line of military on both sides of the family so we were positive about military--just not so sure about our GIRL being in it!! We are now, as stated before, proud of her decision and fully support her. We look forward to seeing all that she will learn and become as an active part of the United States Navy.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
We have had very good contact with the recruiting staff and her recruiter in particular. They answered many questions and calls, even after Kelly left for Boot Camp. They have been very considerate, positive and professional. This was also the case at the MEPS station. We were impressed.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

hi Francine, it's Francine just wanted to say "hello" and see how Kelly is doing. My daughter Kailey doesn't leave for boot until February and it will be here before you know it. She is keeping busy working and does go to PT every Wednesday, today she went to her high school with her recruiter. On the June 16th message from Laura it mentions something about your daughter healing, I hope she is ok. Talk to you again, take care and God Bless

Francine,
I will be praying for Kelly's healing. I know how frustrating it can be to wait for an answer. But hang in there and tell her to hang in there. All will work out. Thinking of you.

To Our Special N4MS Moms!

Mother’s Day Blessing

Just as God gives to each rose
A gentle touch of dew
And gives unto each evening sky
The lovely sunset’s hue

So may he give to you
From his enduring love
Great happiness and hearts’ content
And blessings from above.

Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day from Brenda S., aka, Sailor Moon

Hi Francine, wanted to stop by and welcome you to AECF group. Our son is an FC and is currently at C school, my hubby was also FC for 10 years so I'm fairly comfortable with the rate. It's a good rate with lots of school time. Please let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Hey, Just wanted to say hi. Hope that Kelly is all settled. How are things in your part of the world, (NOT SURE WHERE THAT IS), but am hoping you have good weather, we have a cold rain, for the next 5 days. Miss you all, just sort of staying low and not venturing out too much. Things are not good for me right now, so I will be off and on. Again, loved meeting you. My personal email is trishdawson@centurytel.net, would love to hear from you.
Hugs Trish
