About me:
I am a mother of two: Sid is 18 years old and began Navy training on August 8, 2008 and Vivienne is 18 months old and is an adorable chubby little girl that misses her big brother. I have been absolutely sick since Sid left for Great Lakes, in the past 18 years not a day has gone by that I haven't talked to him.
I am here to support or represent my:
Sid
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I never thought I would step foot into a recruiting office. I am as liberal as is possibly possible. My son has been raised in a vegetarian, ultra left-wing home, so I was very shocked when he said he wanted to join the military but I learned that there are many benefits for him and I will always support my son, no matter what.

This is the first time they both have been away this long from me. I also have a 5 year old girl and 6 year old girl at home. But we miss our Corey and Andy lots. Are you going to the meet and greet? Good Morning Gara, Hope this finds you doing well. Jared did not go with a friend, this must be someone that he met at bootcamp. So that iss encouraging that he is making friends. This might sound bad, but I think it is better for Jared to go to BC alone. He does have a friend that is going in December, I have a feeling that they would have gotten into trouble if they were together.

What is Sid's last name? I know they all go by last names only, I doubt if they even know each other's first names I want to write to Jared about Sid.

Yes, I would love to just get a video of all these guys folding laundry, making beds and cleaning bathrooms. I have tried to get him to do that for 18 YEARS!! ha, ha... I am excited to see the changes in Jared, and am scared at the same time. He so definitely needed to get out of the high school jock, party stage, So I am sure he has lost a little of the "chip" by now. By the sounds of Jared's letter, he still has his sense of humor even at BC! He stared his letter... This is Seaman Recruit Adams, Div 369, (but you can just call me Jared). That was encouraging that he still had a little humor on the 5th day of BC.

Well, I pray for our "boys" everyday. I know the Lord is watching over them. They are in good hands. I have complete faith that they are doing great. Don't get me wrong I still cry when I miss him, but they are going to be fine!! I would be more afraid sending Jared to a college campus at this point, (he has a little wild streak in him

Well, take care of yourself! I will be waiting by the phone to hear my son's voice!! I guess I can just keep calling his cell phone and listen to the message, ( I have only done that twice so far), I was desperate! Blessings to you and Sid, Christy

Hi Gara, Our son "Jared Adams" is Div 369 ship 9 with your son... Got a call from a friend of Jared's yesterday to say he was doing fine but was on "watch" and wouldn't be able to call home. Hope your son is doing well, and you are holding up. I am in Colorado, (my heart is in bootcamp). Are you planning to go to PIR? Blessings to you and your family! Christy
