As I boarded the USS Kearsarge I felt a sense of contentment. Here I was getting on a real war fighting vessel. The walk from the bus to the ship was about 300 yards. I called Lisa to let her know that I was going aboard. I was tol… Continue

Hi Gary. Saw your blog on SB about Israel. Couldn't agree more, but, frankly, I am afraid to comment there as I have been scared away from SB due to the vitriol that has been evident on that site. Yes, Israel needs to defend. It is about time. Saw your tiger cruise pictures. Awesome experience, isn't it? I was on a tiger cruise after my son's first deployment. Will never forget it...My boy is currently in Iraq doing base defense as he volunteered to be attached to the army for a time...no tiger cruise this go around! Welcome to navyformoms...er...dads! It is a great place for support!

Gary, no that wasn't me, that was either Ch Fix or Ch O'Bannion. I just reported to the Kearsarge on 2 December. But as I said, I'm looking forward to getting to know all the Sailors on board. Tell your son to stop by and say hello.
