Unfortunatley, it is time for me to say good bye to Navy for Moms. my son has been discharged and I am totally devestated. He just couldnt handle it. So they gave him a general discharge. I went from being so proud to disappointed. I am so scared for what lies ahead. Thanks to everyone who gave their love and support over the last six months , i will truely have a withdrawl from being on this site. I have learned so much about the navy. I only wish my son could have made it through. Love to all… Continue

What are the chances

Im really worried, My son is going to Norfolk on Fri from Great Lakes. He will be on the USS Oscar , he already has his orders, he told me last nite that he may try for a job at Camp David which is like 10 minutes from our house. Some would say that would be awesome , but that scares me to death because Brad was hanging with bad people before he left and getting into trouble and if he comes back that close to home Im afraid of what may happen. So what are the chances of that happening , I talked… Continue

Hes going to Norfolk

Brad will graduate A school on Jan 15th and then on the 16th will be going to Norfolk to be on the USS Oscar. we are so proud of him , He will only be 4 hrs away YYYEAHHHHH. I cant imagine what he is feeling i know he is ready to leave great lakes, he hates it there cuz of the cold, snow wind. I dont blame him.

Sad to say goodbye

Well , its Monday morning and we are leaving, im so sad. I gotta say Brad didnt seem to mind to leave me , it was like he was ready to get back to his life. He seems so independent and mature now. I cant beleive how much he has changed, ... but he is still the same also. we were pretty bored , really didnt know much to do. we went and saw some movies and hung out at the mall. he was to scared to go into Chicago, he was afraid not to make it back to base on time. he was being very responsible. He… Continue

Jesse will be heading to Norfolk on Friday. He's at home right now. I'm enjoying this time a whole lot more. He actually spends more time with me so I'm really happy. He'll be working with his recruiter this week since he only had 2 1/2 days of leave build up. But we'll be going to see him pretty soon.
How are you doing?

You know I just told Jesse today at lunch that I havent heared from you since Brad has gotten to Norfolk. And has he talked to Brad yet? Jesse said he hasnt yet. Anyway...Jesse is still in Meridian and is waiting to find out when he will be leaving there and will he be able to come home first. We really hope he will but if not we will be going there as soon as possible. Jesse was told he will have shore duty. I guess he will find out more the next few days. He's very excited to get going I tell you. And so am I. Jesse said if he has shore duty for a long time he will need to get himself a car but he wants to wait a little and see how things go there before he does. How does Brad like it there? Jesse almost picked Hawaii. my friends here said why didnt he..oh my god!!. I was so glad he didnt. In a way it would have been so cool but then he wouldnt get to come home for a long time and I wouldnt get to go see him either. In a couple of years he said he will see if he can go overseas. I'm just glad he didnt choose Hawaai just now. lol. I'll let Jesse know on what ship Brad is on. Last time I talked to Jesse he was about to go play soccer. I hope he will make some friends there that love to play soccer as much as he does.

Oh, ok. I thought you meant in Great Lakes! Nick will go to sub school in Groton when he is done with CS school. He won't get down to Norfolk for a few months and then he will be on a sub.

Gerri, I am so glad you found someone to talk to Brad. That's great he can come home for a couple days! How did you find out who the ombudsman is for the ship? I believe they are in the same ship since they have all the Cs's together in one ship. Who was it you contacted?

Gerri, Nick knows Brad from class. They were in the same class until Nick got sick. He was very sick for almost two weeks and missed a week of school. He said Brad will graduate Thursday and then is leaving so I don't know if he will get a chance to talk to him. Nick had to join another class to make up what he missed and will now graduate on Jan 23. I'll let you know if he gets to talk to him. That's awesome that Brad is graduating! I hope things get better for for him!

Oh my goodness...he's already graduating. I bet it's fustrating not knowing any details. I mean the real Navy life is about to start for him. It should be an exciting time for him. I hope you hear from him tonight.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's prob. nothing to worry about. Somtimes I swear our boys dont think. Jesse sent me a comment "oh by the way we almost died last night" when I got it I couldnt reach him. That just isnt funny. When I finally reached him about 5-6 hours later he said there was a Tornado sighting not to far away from base..or so he had heared. He said I shouldnt have worried. Yup! I told him if I didnt worry I wouldnt care about him. right!..ggrrr.
