Has anyone heard of N. Korea shooting at or capturing a S. Korean ship? I follow the news pretty close and I haven't heard that. Got word that might have happened. I really hope nothing messes with my boy coming home in Jan.

I had to check twice to make sure that was the sun. It has been a dreary, cold rainy mess this week . I'm glad it is over.

Welcome Joy, My son works with Claudia's son. They are in Aviation Support. I can see my son sliding around in a chair in choppy seas. Just last leave, he was sitting on the treadmill on high and flying off into the floor. He's 23 lol.

I'm the winner of the criyng contest, because I thought yesterday of how little time my sailor would have at home on leave and how I would miss him when he was gone. I started to cry and he hasn't even came home yet. I know nothing about hardcopy...

Crazy question-----Does your sailor take their leave when families visit Japan or do you go and just spend time with them when their duty shift is over?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Saying goodbye hurts. However, he is excited and looking forward to an adventure. I had to accept his wishes and be happy for him too.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi there. Thank you for contacting me! You obviously have good taste, naming you son Ryan! (I'm a Ryan's Mom too!) We'll be saying our goodbyes this weekend and I don't think any of us are going to hold up very well. We've been lucky that he's been at school nearby so we've been able to spend every weekend together. I want to learn as much as I can about the what's and where's of the adventure that lays ahead for him. It's amazing how us Mom's can be so proud and excited for our sailors but so sad to say goodbye. Thank you for being supportive. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Sandy McD

Ginger, glad to hear Ryan is on the mend! They get really stressed out about not being 100%, don't they? The maturity is amazing for sure! Thank you, Navy! lol

Ginger, I hope you don't mind if I forwarded your post about your son's back pain to mine. He is a corpsman at the clinic on base at Atsugi and very into PT and fitness as well. I asked if he had any words of wisdom to share, so am waiting to hear back. I'll let you know!

Ginger, I've emailed my son to ask if he'd be interested in some ice hockey and am waiting for his response. If it's a yes I'll let you know and we can exchange their email address through a private message. :-) Thanks!!

Ginger, my son is at Atsugi, but most of his "crew" there are attached to the USS GW!! Small world, huh? He is, in fact, postponing his leave so he can be there for the month of September while the GW is back in port. That's friendship! ;-) I'll pass your info along to him, and thanks!!

Ginger,

I don't know who could possibly have there nose in my business and be in touch with Chris. It's a real mystery but I have nothing to hide that would upset him. Thanks for caring and thanks for being mad for me

Im not sure yet if that means that he will be at sea or not I asked him today. I know he is associated with the George Washington. He is an AO. How about your son.
