About me:
I have been happily married for 29years
I am a proud mother of two fine young men. my oldest is living in Clearwater working with computers.
I am a christian and going to Hope Bible Institute. I work in retail as a Jewelry manager.
I am here to support or represent my:
Joseph
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I must trust God with my sons life. I do not want to get in the way of allowing him to become the man he is destined for.
My life scripture is Psalm 91 ( it is a long chapter but I cling to verse 11) For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

Isaiah 41 10
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

But i am thankful he has had time to relax and forget about school for a while and enjoy himself. we have had some speical moments. it has been good to see the bathroom messy and the car with out gas again!!!! He does enjoy the Navy life, although school is demanding , he has a positive attitude about it all,and enjoys the challenge, which means everything.

Grace...3-4 trips for Andrew...Had a niece at College of Charleston...was down for her graduation, also. As far as where to stay...check on line for hotels near the Airport, stayed near Arco LN a couple of times...most sailors will tell you not to stay at the Holiday Inn just off base...there are a few hotels NW of base off Red Bank Rd and US-52 that are okay (not the best in the world, and the train that runs along US-52 is extremely noisy). Google hotels near Goose Creek, SC...almost all of the ones along I-26 in the vicinity of the base are decent. Depends on whether $$$ or basic sleeping accomodations are important. We carried Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings to the Extended Stay just off of I-26 near Airport...they were helpful, friendly, and accomodating.

Stayed at Charleston for the whole time...Dry Dock for his particular sub will be two years, so his first two years in while he is classified as 'sea' will be actually on shore...not sure yet what will happen when he is supposed to rotate to shore duty, or if he will get to go to sea. I will get to see him for some part of a week, sometime between now and Christmas.
Not sure ifI told you but Congrats to you and your son! Always support him, listen when you do hear from him

Hi Grace, I'ts so good to hear from you!!! The PIR weekend was amazing wasn't it?? You'll have to let me know what you guys did for the weekend. Boot camp is probably one of the most difficult times in life. Getting through the 8 weeks in one piece is hard. Then the PIR comes along.... So amazing isn't it Grace? And then when you see how the kids change and grow up it's incredible. They work so hard and it is such an accomplishment for them. The pride we feel is so immense. It's just so hard to put into words.
Well Grace, Congratulations!!! I would love to hear all about the weekend!!! Is Joseph going to be home for Christmas??? Where is he at this point???
Talk to you soon....... Lots of hugs, Bev
