Our son left two days ago. My emotions have been all over the place. My son is 21 and I know in my heart it was time for him to take this leap, but I miss him terribly. We don't get to communicate for the first two weeks, which is tough. I've alre...

Wow, that is so encouraging. That would be really cool if they got in the same unit. I've battled w/so many different emotions, but ultimately, I am SO proud of him for making this decision. He's 21, has a 13 month old son & needed to make a decis...

Our son just swore in today. We spent most of the morning with him at MEPS. Everyone did very well. It was the saddest when the bus pulled away. I'm filled with lots of different emotions right now. I already miss him so much, but am SO proud of h...

Hi my son left for bootcamp June 8th and graduated July 31st.This is going to be the hardest time of your life as a mom, prepare yourself anyway you can. Try to find Navy moms in your area to meet with, they will be more comfort then anyone else, even your husband cant help like they can because he has no clue to what you as a mom is going threw. Shawn is my youngest of 3 boys and yes My baby. I cry everyday. He sometimes crys also and you mite hear tears from your son threw the phone when he gets to make that 1st real call home.Learn how to transfer calls from home to your cell because you will not know when it will come, mine was on a tuesday at 3 in the afternoon, I will never forget that call as long as I live. Start writing now and save those letters-cards till you have his address and it will be weeks till you get your 1st letter remember no news is good news. I wrote him everyday from the day he left for bootcamp and it will help you and it will help him to get through. If you need someone to help let me know and God bless...It gets better but not much

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

Hi & welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
