you can start writing letters now so that you can have them ready when you get his address. they usually limit the guests to 2 or 3 per recruit. It is an amazing time. you will be surprised by the young man that will stand before you where 8 weeks b…

Chris A. is right, I got the call but I never received the short note and letter that everyone else seemed to get. Also keep your cell phone handy for these Bootcamp weeks because you'll never know when they get to call. Does your son have a close g…

Not everyone gets to make that 30 second call. There are a bazillion new recruits all scrambling for a few phones, some of which don't work very well. If he wasn't there safely you'd have heard from his recruiter. That 1st phone call is literally "H…

My son arrived at BC tonight and I was expecting a phone call from him at least telling me he was there, but it never came. Disappointed because I knew it would be a long time before I heard his voice again. I guess everyone doesn't get to make that…

MY SON LEFT SUNDAY

OH MY GOD! WHERE DO I BEGIN! I THINK IT REALLY DIDN'T HIT ME UNTIL I CAME BACK HOME AND THE HOUSE SEEMED EMPTY. I KEEP HIS DOOR TO HIS ROOM CLOSED. IT IS JUS TMY DAUGHTER WHO IS 10 AS OF SUNDAY AND I. HE IS SUCH A GOOD KID, NEVER BEEN IN TROUBLE, BUT VERY GULLIBLE AND PASSIVE. I HOPE THE NAVY CHANGED THAT IN HIM. FIRST QUESTION IS, HOW MUCH CAN THEY CALL, DO THEY HAVE THE UTENSILS TO WRITE, AND IF I CAN PURCHASE THE PICTURES, CAUSE I KNOW HE WON'T HAVE A CLUE. ALSO FOR THE CEREMONY, WHAT HOTEL D… Continue

What a good looking kid! things here are going prety good, I mailed Jacob's christmas presents over the weekend, he should be getting them soon. My daughterr has taken to staying at my side for the last few days keeping me distracted. I think she knows how much I miss him. But I know he is happy where he is and that makes me feel a lot better. Have you heard when graduation is yet?

Morning, I made it thru Thanksgiving and I think I can do this, My family was wonderful and that really made a difference. He called on Friday about 6 am. They released them about 3 so they could go shopping, It was so funny. It was his first day after shopping spree. All he could say was oooohhhhh my gosh, these people are insane. lol. How are you doing?

If I can keep myself busy I do ok but any down time is usually not so good right now. I am so proud of my son for what he is doing but I am starting to really miss him. I think it has a lot to do with my husbands family. I love them all but my mother n law keeps saying how much she wishes Jacob could be here. I just keep quiet and cry on the inside. But hopefully dinner tomarrow will be ok. When I told him I had to make rolls to take for dinner he about had a fit and wanted them shipped to him instead. I guess somethings just cannot be replaced by someone else's cooking haha.

I am so happy you finallyl go to hear his voice. What a world of difference it makes even for just a few minutes. When you find out when graduation is let me know. We stayed at a hotel about 5 miles away but really didn't take that long to get there. I can't remember the name of the place but when I get home I'll get it for you. Have a good day tomarrow and remember to write him as much as possible, It really helps

When we got out box of Jacob's clothes I think it was another week or 2 before we got that call. On Sunday I would not go anywhere because I was afraid I would miss the call if I was in a dead zone, or I would carry my cell phone around waiting for it to ring then when it wouldn't I would get mad. I know how you feel, It's rough and not being able to talk to them is rough but not much longer and you will see him. Have you got your letter yet with his address?
Hang in there, it will get better
