When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
that my son no longer needed me to take care of him. He now needs me for advice and guidance and to mail him things from home.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

You are always in my heart.

So great to hear about PIR! Congratulations! I'm on the major countdown. We heard from Scott last night. Was so good to hear his voice. He said he leaves boot cmp on Sunday the 25th at 3:00am so that will cut our time short with him. I'm just so glad that he is sopositive about all of this! Can't wait to see those pictures!

Scott lost his classification after arriving at GL due to color blindness so we don't know what he will be doing after BC. We hope that his letter this week brings great news and that he has been reclassified. Scott talked about doing SWCC this summer - not sure if he'll look into that again. When are you going to leave for GL? Make sure you touch base when you get home and fill me in on all the details!

Hi Jaci-
I was just looking through the Wisconsin moms and saw your name. I'm a Wisconsin mom too. We live in Neenah but I have a daughter in Stevens Point who graduated from UWSP and is working for Sentury Ins. I see your son's PIR is next week. Congratulations! My son, Scott, will PIR on the 23rd, so I only have 3 more weeks to go. You'll have to let me know how awesome PIR is and what you did afterwards. We're going in on Thursday night and staying through Sunday. I can't wait to hug and kiss that kiddo! Have a great trip and again, congratulations to you and your son! Go Navy! Jill

oh boy, we had no idea Luke needed his wisdom teeth out, I don't think you were on this site yet when this happened but i had been reading about a lot of others who were having theirs pulled and it seems like a standart practice the Navy does, we started a big discussion about it and then the next thing you know,, someone was monitoring the site and they removed all the discussions about it. Luke said it hurt very bad and they didn't put him out for it. He had bed rest for two days and was on Vicadin. He said it was terrible to be in that much pain in boot camp.

Hi Jaci-
You are lucky that you got a letter written on Thanksgiving! I've only gotten one letter so far and Luke said too, that they were doing a LOT of folding clothes! He didn't sound too happy about it. It was written almost two weeks ago so hopefully things have changed since then. My Luke got his wisdom teeth pulled after being there a week so had to stay in his bunk for two days, he said it hurt alot. Your Lucas sounds alot like my Luke, he doesn't have a lot of weight to spare either. Hopefully they're getting enough to eat!

Jaci, Daniel is my middle son. My dad was also in the Navy so I'm proud of Daniel for choosing the Navy. I'm looking forward to how much they will change just in the short time at bootcamp. I think from the letter that's already starting to happen. He can even print better. I'm at work now, so will ck my mail after court.
