Profile Information

About me:
I am a 47 yo mother of "6". 3 of my children are in the Military and I am probably the proudest Mom there is. I am also a Disabled Peace-time Veteran of the Navy. I was a Navy Corpsman.. My husband is a former National Guard Tank Driver. So I guess you could say that we are a "Military Family" I have a daughter in the Navy and 2 sons in the Army Reserves, 1 of them in Baghdad right now. The other will be going to boot camp on July 7th (the day after his 18th Birthday).
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As a Veteran myself I learned that you have a choice to make about your Duty Station.....It will be what YOU make of it. If you want it to be a good one ..IT WILL BE!!! On the other hand if you want it to be a BAD one...it will be that too.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hey Jackie: Just saw that you have joined our group for the Forrest Sherman. Welcome! I happen to be in Virginia for a couple of weeks at the moment & had the chance to see "our ship" at the pier yesterday afternoon. Where are you located?

I would like to invite you to join the group of moms from Texas!! We are the largest state group on this site!! (Everything is bigger in Texas - including Navy Moms)!! We reached 500 members on February 12, 2009.

Just go to the groups tab and type in Texas in the search box. The icon of the group is the state of Texas, of course!! If you can’t find that, click on my picture to the left and it will take you to my page. You can find the same icon there. Just click on it and you can join us!!

Please leave a short message about where you live and what your sailor is doing. Also, please let us know how you found Navy for Moms.

My sailor son, Derek, is a MA (Master at Arms) - He is now stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia.
