We have 3 kids, Mike 20, Meg 17 and Steven 6. Both my husband and I are prior service, Air Force and Army. Our daughter has joined the Marines, she is in the DEP program and leaves on 15 June 09. We are proud of Mike for joining the Navy.

Hi Jan, my son had sea duty for 3 yrs, and now he has shore duty for 3. I believe its like that in the Navy. 3 shore, 3 sea. I hope he gets to go where he chooses. Good luck! Patricia:)

Hey, Jan. Just got home from that long drive from Great Lakes. I am so glad to hear that Mike made it, I was praying right along with you. Tyler thought that Mike may have had some trouble and got set back, I was so disappointed and sad to hear that. Then I come home and see that you got the call!! I am so relieved!! Now where does he go? Tyler left Saturday from O'hare for Groton, CT, he called me today and is settling in and waiting for things to start back up. I am soooo proud of him, as I know you are of Mike. Congrats!!!

Ryan called yesterday to let me know he didn't pass the run but will get to do it again today. Please pray for him. I'm really worried about how upset he is. Hey, Jan. Just wanted to tell you that I got a really nice letter from Tyler yesterday. I had asked him tons of questions and he answered most of them, including that he does know Mike. I just thought it was neat that our kids know that their moms talk to one another. It looks like we will be staying in the Chicago area for a few days, Tyler elected local leave and will go from there to A school in Connecticut. Hope I get to meet you while we are there, the jury is still out about the meet and greet, guess we will decide when we get there.
