Just checked Southwest site - they start flights to Panama Beach in May which is 2.5 hours from Pensacola - no word of going right into Pensacola yet - sure would be nice! Mobile, Alabama is an hour away - flights from Mobile to Michigan were over 2…

I spoke with Julie last night on the phone and she suggested I say hi to you, sinceyour son is helo pilot. Julie and I live in the same area and our son's are both in Norfolk. My son is a Sr. in the NROTC program at Old Dominion University and thinks he wants to fly helos. As he says, he'll fly whatever they tell him to fly, if he qualifies. He is in the early stages, as he just had his physical, but has not taken the ASTB yet. He is planning to take it sometime in the next few months.He's not graduating until next year this time. He needed an extra semester to finish. Any suggestions for a very anxious Mom? I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. I want to be supportive, but I know it is so competitive for the spots.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Andrea is living in Milton Pines (base housing, 2 and 3 BR ranch houses built in the 60s). It is close to the base and pretty convenient to everything. If there are open houses, all SNAs are required to live on base. She has enjoyed it there.
The first few weeks are primarily classes and the kids can carpool the 10-15 minutes to the base. After that, the sim and flight scheds are varied. Andrea is in VT-28. She is happy to help- she says there is alot of gouge for him to get him going.
