Hello!!! We will defiinatly talk! I will give you all of the insight I can give you. Bring cushions for the seating, take the shuttle bus. get there early, sit to the far RIGHT, bring binnoculars, take lots of pic.....make sure YOU are in the pics!!!!
Ask hiim "what lunch" he wants when you see him...taco bell, pizza hut or KFC. He will fly back to his barracks to pack his things and then bring you his picture packet. Remember to ask him to bring you those! Traffic is horrible!!! We taligaited on a couple from Navy Lodge....thank goodess!
When we go there, we saw the other recruits...not my son.....no worries. We went to the same ticket place as they went to and we told them we were with him and they checked our IDs and gave us a pass to get through security. He called us on his calling acrd and we met him at a nice restaurant there. We ate dinner and then we followed him the ECO and we took pics of him there with his rack mate and then we walked with him to his gate and waited for like 20 minutes b4 he boarded the plane. Not much time with him, but I cherished every minute as I won't see him again until Christmas break.Take lots of pics!!!!!

I will just tell you, the traffic is horrible. The roads going North are all under construction. It took us about an hour and half to get to the Hotel, but on the way back on Sunday, it only took us 30 min. The train station at Great Lakes which is at the base is only about 15 min. It is at Gate 3 is what I was told the Gate was, we didn't use that station though. The Waukegan train station is about 15 min away as well. The ride to Chicago is a little over an hour. Go to Rush Street and Michigan Ave in Chicago, that was where the shopping and restaurants were. We took a cab from the train station to there instead of trying to find out which bus went where.

Congratulations and I know you will have one of the most awesome experiences in your life. Please write back and tell of your experience.

Hi Jane,
I am sooo happy you got letters! You got 2 to my 1:) We will be there about 9:00 pm Thurs. Hopefully you all will still be there. Our hotel is right outside Flanagan's. Don't know how I will sleep that night. Probably won't look so good the next day. Hope to see you there but if not I am sure the next day. Need to get some good sleeping pills from my Dr. And I don't fly well either. I am working myself up over the flight. I just keep reminding myself I am going to see my son. And on top of it all I have to share him with my ex:( See you soon.

HI Jane,
I am hoping you get a letter today. Mine was very short and sweet. I think they are really busy right now. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just 3 more weeks from today. I think they perform today for the first of three graduations. They do 2 before theirs. Hang in there. We will meet soon.

Hi Jane,
My name is Pat. My son is in division 253 and has scheduled graduation on 7/24 also. Just wanted to let you know that I hope you get your letter today. I know how important those letters are!! I get my mail on Thursday and when all the other moms were talking about receiving letters on Wednesday, I also got so down. Just remember, our guys are more than have way done! I think they are busier now preparing for PIR and final exams, etc. I usually get five or so pages of letters in one envelope from my son and this time I only had three. It made me sad but I was so glad that he is sounding stronger and more sure of himself. I will keep you, your family and your recruit in my prayers and let's count down the days together!! Warmest regards, Pat

HI Jane - Yes, I found Shelly yesterday, she was nice enough to answer me right away. I agree with you both, this has been the hardest thing, for both me and my husband. I can't wait for "navymail thursdays' - I fly home at lunch to check the mail! Last week the mail was late and I just stood by the mailbox with the dog and cried! Anyway, we fly into Ohare at 10am and will be staying at the Marriott. We need to exchange cell numbers before then and all meet up for graduation.

Hi Jane,
I just booked our flights, I am very nervous that his grad. date might change and to change flights cost alot of money. We get into Chicago at 7:49 pm. I soo much wanted to go to the meet and greet too. We will get to Hotel around 9 I am thinking. It was next to Flanagans so hopefully you all will still be there. After all this I really want to meet you too. We are staying at Red Carpet Inn. Talk to you later.
