Thanks for posting this video. My son marched in the parade and I was not able to find footage on my local tv, so I was delighted to find him on NAVYFORMOMS.COM -- Warm Regards
Navy Sisters,
My son is still at Great Lakes, A school. He wasn't able to come home for the weekend so he volunteered to march in the Chicago Memorial Day Parade, a Navy Mom went down to the parade site and had the group do a shout out to "NAVY MOMS…
Hi Moms,
Hope all enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day. I thought of my Sailor all day.
I was wondering if any of you like to birdwatch? Off the normal topics, but this site has baby Bald Eagles, so cool: http://www.hancockwildlifechannel.org/staticpage…
Hi Navy Moms! I have not been on much since PIR, but often think of you ladies and pray for your sailors. I love reading your updates. I didn't exchange private contact info while in Great Lakes, so we have to stay in contact here.
I attended a gat…
Ladies, I am overwhelmed, proud, cry at the drop of a hat and I have a million more questions.
Does anyone know how to order the DVD of the graduation?
Joan, what a Mom, I cannot believe what you had to go thru to get to graduation. I hope to meet y…
Just arrived Great Lakes, drove by the Naval Base, feels great to be close by. All Boot Camp Mom's, the time does pass and it is a roller coaster, but what a great gift. Hang in there. Thanks for being supportive. I will post a PIR pic when I get ho…
Hi MOMS, I'm here, drove by the Naval Training Center. It feels good to be close by. Drove by Flanagans. Just had a real nice day. Can't wait to meet you all. Take Care, Be Safe and See you all soon.
Ladies, I leave early in the morning. As much as I have been looking forward to seeing my son, I never realized how excited I would be to meet all of you. BIG BONUS, I will try to log on tomorrow from Chicago and send you the weather update. Love Yo…
GOT THE CALL, he sounded tired and happy. Dave said the experience was exciting and a great opportunity to use skills. He was going to buy snacks; wants to hit a movie and dinner in a restaurant while we are in Chicago. He said the 146th took 2nd in…
146th here, no call. I am getting ready to do run some errands, I'm sending all calls to my cell phone. Wish I could hold still. My family is accusing me of being over-sensitive -- WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY MEAN? LOL
Waiting for my call, but busy getting ready, I fly out of here at 7:30am tomorrow morning. I am so excited about meeting everyone. I want HUGS !
I feel such pride for all the Sailors, I just know when I see your Sons and Daughters, I'm gonna lose it…
I am a Mother and Grandmother. My father, and brother both proudly served in the Navy. I am a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution, so we are a patriotic family. I feel fortunate to live in a time when a site like "Navy for Moms" is available as support. Love you all, Dear Navy Sisters.

Thanks, Jen. I guess, once a Mom, always a Mom! :-)
This is all so new and I fuess the old "Mom has to be in charge of everything" mentality needs to be readdressed! Isn't it funny? We have all the control for their entire lives and then we send them on their way. I just pray every day that we have prepared him... Did you ever think you were capable of such love?
Jen: Have a wonder-filled time in Great Lakes. I know how excited you are...it's one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences. A #1 WOW if there ever was one!!!
Oh, that's funny you said he sounded strange when he made the "I'm here" call. I have been running that call through my head all day and Greg too sounded different. He was really serious and just said what I think they wanted him to say and that was it. Of course I got an "I love you out of him and he through in "be sure and call Cristen" his girlfriend. That was it. I really didn't like it at all so I am hoping for more calls soon. Have a great night, I'm going to start making m countdown calendar tonight, hopefully that will make time seem to go faster. I can't wait to make my arrangements for my trip to IL. Blessings
Thanks for writing Jen, I got a call from Greg a few hours ago, the call that tells me "I'm here". I will try and prepare myself for "the box". I bet you are sooooo excited for graduation, please tell us all about it when you get back. Where is your son going after bc?
Did you get a lot of phone calls from your son?
Jen: Don't give the picnic another thought....PIR is where you need to be...it is such a big accomplishment for our kids. And it is definitely a WOW experience. We had a "meet & greet" the night before, also...it was so much fun. I met a mom from Tucson and we've been friends ever since. Let us know when you get back!
Hi Jen: Navy for Moms has been invited to attend a DEP meeting/potluck on April 4th. It will be at Cortez Park at 35th Ave and Dunlap. It's posted on the "Events" page. Check it out. Hope you can come!
