Hi Jessica,
I have lived in Maryland my whole life and I can definately give you advise on where to and not to live in Maryland. The area around Andrews is not the greatest. You probably will have to go out farther. The closest areas would be Charles County and Calvert County. I live in Charles County which is about 20 min south of Andrews. It is a nice very diverse community with a whole lot of Armed Forces personnel living here. Calvert County is nicer, less traffic but much more expensive. Then there is Montgomery county to the north but traffic is hellacious going around Capital beltway . I know nothing about Virginia but its pretty close but add that traffic on the beltway again.
