Thanks Laurie-It's odd how a phone call can make you smile all day. The calls are all so RANDOM though. Not all rcts in a div are calling. It's frustrating-when you get a call you want everyone else to get one too because it's such a relief.

Congrats Jessica and Edna on your phone calls! Don't they just make the worries melt away??? I've been a different person entirely since Chris called this past weekend. No more worries, it's lovely.

Got another call from Kyle this afternoon. My husband talked to him most of the time. I only talked a little. He really wants me to send letters and pictures.

Jessica, PASS is personal applied skills streaming. It is for coping skills, stress, self esteem issues, or anger mgmt issues. I had to look it up myself. My son said he had a hard week last week, and wasn't "getting" things quickly as he should have. So they wanted him in this program. Normally a week, but with the holidays, 2 weeks. He had to drop out of his Division which is what he hated. He liked all of the guys there. He was actually in the same ship as your son, but another Div. He will lose 2 weeks of training while in this and will rejoin another Div. when finshed that is where his old Div. is right now in progress. Moved his grad date back.

I read her post and was comforted by her update. Brian is sounding so mature in his letters to Ashley. He told her that she would be proud of the man he is becoming thanks to boot camp. That gave me added comfort. I am checking airfare now since I have decided not to make the drive from Michigan even though it is only a little over five hours drive. Thanks always for your comments.

My daughter is in ship 10 div 69. Yes I received a letter last Friday, she also sent a letter to her brother (10) and one to her sister (17); sounds like she is doing great.

Yeah!!!! You heard from him!!! What a relief! My Patrick sounded so mature---happy, not homesick. I think he really likes it. Hope your son does too.

That's great about the letter, Jessica. You must be so relieved knowing he's doing well and is happy. Does he get any time off during the holidays?

Jessica,
I sure hope you hear from your son soon. I have received 2 letters so far and am happy that my Patrick is doing well. He said that it is really cold ---25 degrees the day of his letter---yikes---he said that they gave them alot of warm clothes and not to worry.

Dear Jessica,
It's my pleasure. I went through this last year myself. It's scary, the unknown with our children.
I read it all the time, once the recruits get into the rountine and over homesickness, they say it's like a summer camp. So far, all I read from other Navy moms,is that their child loved it. My daughter too, she told me that after she graduated.

Let me get going. Stay well.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
