My prayers go out to all who have loved at Fort Hood.
Cathy I too cried, my son is in Iraq, I know things are better there, but it is still war. I cry when Fox news plays the video's, and there is new one coming for Vetern's day, which I will watch and cry. Thanks to Navy mom's I know I am not alone

also if it is stored the sailor does not have to pay the insurance on it while it is not being driven. we are storing my son's car, while he away and not driving it. So my son has not had to pay his insurance. He will turn it on while he is here, an…

- About me:
- I am married, my husband served 6 years in the Navy he was on the Midway, during the Iran Hostage crisis. I have 1 son who is now in the Navy, he just got married, and she came with a beautiful 18 month son,and I fell in love with him on there last visit. in Feb he will be heading to Iraq, and I have 1 step-daughter who has given us a beautiful 2 year old granddaughter.

- Was concerned or afraid
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- I learned I had to let my baby go and grow up, I had done my job. The day he left for bootcamp, was for me a very sad, but proud day. Saying goodbye at the airport, crying the hour and a half drive home. I had to learn to be me again.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

carol Harlen's mom said… - hello how is things now!! we are ok just working a lot .I just wish that it was Nov. so I could retire!!ha ha.. Tomarrow is my Navy boy birthday I can not belive that he will be 40 years young...We are planning to go and see him in a month... so hears wishing my life away and wish I could be there now...my grandson is graud. from high school the 6th of June so we hope to be there...I will be praying for your son and hope that his stay won't be long but a safe stay.. How is your dad I hope that this finds him well.. So I will leave you and hope to hear from you agian soon...A BIG NAVY HUG TO YOU carol

- hello Jill, hope that all is well with you and your family!!Sorry that I haven't wrote before now but that chat thing was in my way of my writing to anyone it was hard to be able to see what I was putting down.. I am hoping that your son and his family is doing real well...My son is going to have to go back to San Deigo for a year I think but he is going to take his Harly bike and ride it back and forth to be with his family for holidays and special events... so I will be on pins and neddles till that year is over...Please for give me for not getting a note out to you sooner than this..please write when you can... carol

- hi Jill I am so glad that you shared with me about your self and I pray that my grand daugther will come around and become a person that I know she can be..I tried to get her to go to church this morning but she would not go and my daugther did not make her go.. and guess what the sermon was about rules!!just the thing that she needs...so I got a cd of the sermon and this week I am going to my daugthers and have her listen to the sermon but she should have been there to see the dvd that went all long with the sermon..I really do not like to force her also but there are times we need to do things that are good for us...I am so glad that I found this site and I have found new friends that I can share with..Here is hoping that you have a good week and that things go good for your son also.. take care and write when you can.. your navy for moms friend...carol

- hi Jill here is hoping that your dad gets his money back!!!!! and the woman pays for what she has done..anyone who acts like that does not need children... I just pray for all the children who are in that kind of homes..I am afraid that it is going to be more of that kind of things going on if things don't strighten up..I know that I am haveing trouble with my teenage grand daugther but I am praying thatshe will make it till she grows up with out to much harm.. I am glad that your son is liking his training and I will pray that he will be safe and his family is safe from harms way while he is gone//take care and hope we can talk agian soon..a Big Navy Hug from one Navy mom to another take care...carol

- hes heading to afghanistan. this is heart wrenching. we went out there this past weekend because he was sopposed to leave in about two weeks, now that has changed.what really broke my heart is when he told me .. Mom i want to go to afgahnistan, beacuse i want to serve my country. when I get back from deployment I want to tell people what i saw & experinced over there. I dont want to go to spain or guam, that to me is not really serving. I told him you derserve the same respect no matter where you go.and i will be proud of you no matter where the navy sends you!
I know i will be on here qiute a bit in the next few months, and thank you for reaching out.. hope to keep in touch

- hello Jill I am so glad that your husband made it back and all is well with your sons car...it is great to have a family that you can depend on to help you...I know that I appreacate all that my husband does for me... tonight we went to Fredonia to see our son he is at the hosp. there he is having a lot of depression at this time and the nursing home that he lives in had a covered dish dinner and so my husband took me over to see him and stayed to join in the dinner.. it was a very good dinner and as always we ate way to much..but it was good to see our son agian..I have to work this weekend so he will probly be back to the n.h. before we get over to see him agian.. how is things up your way?? I hope that they are good...well I had better go for now..take care and May God Be With You...carol

- hello jill.. is your husband back from getting your son car back... it was a good ideal for you all to do that as at one time when my son and his wife was seperated he left his truck witch was in extra good conditiion with a friend and his wife with no insureance on it.. well she took the truck to a mall and while she was there someone stoled his truck and when they found it the truck was a mess... the windows was sprayed painted and it was dented all up and the lights was busted out... so guess who had to fix his own truck and his friend was good to help him fix it...but they had to do thier own work on it..so a lesson well learned ...so i hope that your husband is safe and home with you agian.. I will keep you and your family in my prayers ..write when you can and take care..carol
