About me:
I am a Navy dad and as proud as can be of my son. My wife is a member here too, but I have things I want to share and know about too. I work for a home medical company and am just enjoying life. Been married for 27 years to the most wonderful woman in the world!
My sailor is now Petty Officer Third class.
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Hurry up and wait! But, when it's time to move, you move and I mean right now! They aren't kidding when they say, "Accelerate Your Life!"
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

From the bottom of my heart...Thank you Veterans! Thank you for putting yourself into harms way so I can sleep at night knowing that my country is secure. Thank you to those that are serviing right now. May you always have fair winds and calm seas.

Navy Dad in trouble.

Please take a moment to read this article. This was in my hometown newspaper this morning. The question I have is would we here in These United States let a visiting dad from another country die? I don't think so...

Hi has been talking to his brother (Air Force in CA) he will be spending two weeks there over Christmas and his BD. I am glad he will be with his brother and wife. No, still have not heard from him. Also, found out he will be stationed in Pensacola after Dec. Hopefully, we will get an opportunity to visit him in the spring. We live in Tampa.

How about your family?

Thanks for asking and Merry Christmas. God Bless
Sue

so, let me get this straight...you have a wedding, then what about their honeymoon? Then Christmas! What a month for your family!
What day is the wedding again? Will the couple come home to Indiana for awhile for the holidays??
Our sailor says he'll be able to make it home for the holidays too, so we are so excited! It's been a year since we last saw him!!
He also said..".he and Gramza have wings or something like that, every Monday night!"
So, it must be a favorite restaurant or something?? I don't get it exactly...
Good Luck Father of the Groom...I'll be thinking of ya!

Jim - thanks for the welcome! Sounds like the next few weeks will be very exciting for you with your son's wedding coming up! I am a bit confused - is your son going to be relocated to JAX or is he assigned to P-cola?

I understand about the weeknight thing... my original plan was for a lunch on Saturday, but my body decided otherwise! Hopefully, the next time we gather, I'll be ready for a LITTLE mug of beer! Thanks so much for the prayers and wishes; they mean alot to me. Hugs, k.

Will this be a dinner... everyone order their own and then eat together and visit... or what.? A friend of mine who's son is also going around the time my son is, but she doesn't have internet to check this out. It would be great to know more what to expect. Thanks so much. Tina

My son David is getting ready in Japan!
Strong typhoon bears down on Japan
(AFP) – 12 hours ago

TOKYO — A powerful typhoon barrelled towards Japan on Tuesday, prompting warnings of strong winds and high waves just days after storms wreaked devastation in Southeast Asia.

Typhoon Melor, packing gusts of up to 252 kilometres (156 miles) per hour, was bearing down on Minami Daito island in Japan's far south and may hit the main island of Honshu on Thursday, the weather agency said.

The storm has winds of up to 180 kilometres per hour near its centre, it said.

"Minami Daito is expected to be hit by violent winds and rough seas with a sea swell of more than nine metres (30 feet) from late Tuesday to Wednesday noon," an official at the agency said.

"Residents should also brace themselves for heavy rain," he added.

Melor, which means jasmine in Malay, may make landfall on Kii Peninsula in western Honshu on Thursday and rip through the archipelago on a course similar to a 1959 killer typhoon that left thousands dead in Japan, the official said.

The latest typhoon is unlikely to inflict devastation on such a scale because Japanese houses are now better built and coastal areas are equipped with storm surge barriers, he said.

Nice to see such a great turnout. You've done a nice job of promoting it and perhaps that's a good location for alot of folks.

Ah, these Navy weddings! Our son's was great and we had met his intended about 6 months before.
I'm now promoted (ha) to head cook, so that means more hours and insurance. So that is good.
Haven't been in Indiana since my Mom's memorial. Seems strange after years of going for weeks at a time.
Take care
