Hey Joan, just got through reading your reply to my page.
Isn't it funny how these kids are in such a hurry to do exciting things like fight in wars? I think the Lord answered your prayers for Matt. Maybe it is not his time to go Green. There is plenty of time for all of that. It is better for Matt to go green and be attached to a Marine unit in Gods time. We never know what the future holds.

Brenden is still in ATT. This is such an intense course. A lot of information crammed into a really short space of time. It is a year course crammed into 80 days. Brenden has been taking notes constantly. He has already filled 2 notebooks. He is maintaining good grades but is tedious work.

I don't think my sailor son realizes how bad the winter is going to be. Colorado weather is nothing compared to Great Lakes. Our winters a cold and dry. Yes we do get snow, but we have very little humidity. When it snows here, it evaporates the next day. Unless we have a massive blizzard.

Keep in touch, Let me know how Matt is doing. I bet he ends up liking his orders. I just have a feeling.

Chat soon,
Sandy :)

Joan, it was great to hear from you. I am glad Matt is doing well and settling into Navy life. I have never heard of fake blood before, LOL. I can't believe your Matt is going to be graduating already. It seems as if he just started school.

Brenden is still in ATT. The class is all on computer and sometimes it can get frustrating because he can't go back and review the material. I think he has about 4 weeks left of ATT.
After ATT, he is supposed to start (A) School, but I have heard that they are putting everyone on hold before they start. Brenden can't wait to start (A)school.

Have you heard where Matt will be stationed? I hope he is gets stationed near you.

Talk to you soon

Hello Joan, I know you are very busy but I thought I would stop in to say hello.
How are you doing and how is your sailor son?
Brenden is still at Great Lakes taking ATT classes. I think he is very happy. The only thing he complains about is there is no air-conditioning in his barracks. He is hoping to move to his permanent barracks next week. He has been waiting to move ever since he got there LOL.

This week end he went into town with some friends. He went to the Mall and then to a book store.

We are going to the Soap Box Derby with my young 10 year old Webolos Scout this Monday. I hope we win.
talk to you soon

Hello Joan, My son said that he was going to keep in touch with his ship mates. He mentioned that he wanted to go back and visit Waukegan Harber and go fishing.
Hopefully our boys will keep in touch.

I am sorry we didn't get to meet in Great Lakes. I had a difficult time getting there. We took Frontier Airlines and they were so disorganized, that we missed our flight. Then my 2 children and I had to take a plane to Milwaukee Airport, WI. My husband had to take a plane to Chicago Midway. What a mess. He had to drive to Wisconsin pick us up, then drive to The Ramada Inn. It took us so long to get to the Ramada because my poor husband was so tired from a week of hard work. He slept at a gas station near Chicago Midway Airport for 3 hours before driving to Milwaukee Airport. It only took us 30 to get to the Ramada Inn from Milwaukee Airport. However, by the time we got to the Ramada it was 10pm. We were so tired we just got situated in our hotel room there and fell asleep. I had brought everyone's yellow ribbons in my suitcase but forgot to add the pins to them. (a whole lot of use if you can't attach them to your clothes.)

I am so thankful that I met you on NavyForMoms. I don't know what I would have done without your support. It has been a rough 9 weeks. I feel like I have been through boot camp myself.
Chat soon,
Sandy.

Hello Joan. We had a wonderful time with our son. Saying good-bye was one of the hardest things I have done. We said our good-byes in the church parking lot a long with many other families saying good bye to their sailors. Everybody was crying so I don't feel too much like a wimp.LOL
My son will be going to to "A" School at Great Lakes. I hope he will have a good room mate.
Joan, I noticed that you have joined the Corpsmen Moms and Dads group. Your son picked a good job.
Keep in touch and God Bless.

Hi Joan. From what the Chief said. They are letting Brenden re-take the test. I have a feeling he is going to be taking the PFA test this week. I have been a wreck all week. I have been praying a lot. I mailed him some letters tying to be as upbeat and encouraging as possible. The worst part for me is that I can't talk to him. I am praying that I get a phone call soon saying that he past the test. I figure he must be taking it this week because next week they are going to be very busy.
Take care Joan and thank you for your prayers.
I will let you know what is going on.
Sincerely
Sandy

Hello Joan. Stephen and I got the dreaded phone call this Saturday. Brenden did not pass his PFA. Brenden sounded very shaken. Stephen(husband) said that he spoke to Brenden's Chief and he told him that he thought Brenden would pass next time. I don't know if Brenden was moved to another division or when his new PIR date will be.
I will keep you posted

Joan, I am stressed out. I posted a comment on the site "PIR 8/6. diannep's page. Dianne said that when here son was in Great Lakes Boot Camp, her son was one of those difficult boys. She said that the RDC held him put him in another division and held him back a week. She said that this made him grow up and he learned from it and is a totally grown up and responsible person.
