Hi Joeena - Hope I get to meet your boy when he gets back to Guam. Jessica is dilated to 4 cm and the doctor said Lilly can come anytime now. I saw the change of command on the website also. Jon mentioned that there were ship repairs that needed to be done before the ship could go underway again so it's likely, I won't have to worry about the ship leaving while we are there. Hope you and enjoying your time with Jordan :)

Hi Joeena - Hope your well. I spoke to Jon this weekend and his requested two-week leave that was scheduled to start when we arrived in Guam was not approved :( He applied 3 months ago when we found out our travel dates. This is all because the ship may be underway during that time and they will not approve even a "stay-behind" because they said he is needed. He has two more levels to dispute before it is final. The 10 days for the baby's birth was approved. It's very upsetting to the family because we haven't seen him in a year and a half and are travelling such a great distance to be with him. Jon said the Navy is very insensitive to him and they don't care. I find it so hard to believe. Do you have any insight or is there is anything I could do?

Morning Joeena - Did you fly through Japan to Guam or Hawaii to Guam? I'm about ready to buy tickets and am a little hesitant on the Japan route because of the big lay-overs. I was just curious about your experience if you went that route? Any input you can provide would be greatly appreaciated :)

Photos sent in 3 emails and coming from my account (mgonzalez@labiomed.org). Let me know if you do know these guys. My son plays on the deck crew baseball team. They call themselves the "DeckApes". He is best buddies with someone called Figueroa. I hope I'm not giving too many specifics for this website. I miss him so much...haven't seen him in over a year now but at least he is happy. The group photo was taken last week at Jon and Jess' house. Keep in touch Joeena!

Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Orders always change. Don't get too accustomed to orders because they change rapidly.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made
Thanks for contacting me Karen. I will ask Jordan about Kyle. He's a very social guy and knows a lot of people.
