Hi Judy!

It would be great if Eric could get together with Chance! I think it would be so helpful to have someone further along in the process helping out when things are rough or unclear. Eric did say that he had an opportunity to meet up with someone he was with in DEPS - I wonder if it was Chance. Wouldn't that be something? Eric has a room to himself right now as they are re-carpeting some area, so he is really where the power school kids are supposed to be. I will call you or you can call me on my cell at 303-945-1843 and we can see if we can get them hooked up! Thanks so much - you are wonderful!

Judi,
Our stories are remarkably similar. Michael moved out March of his senior year, he did graduate thank fully and with the help of a wonderful teacher. The following March he moved to Wisconsin (I think). The trailer he had been living in with friends was really party central. He was only there for 2 months and moved back home. There were apologies then about behavior etc, but it did not take long for the anger, disrespect and disruptiveness in our home to begin again. My two younger sons where very torn with Michael's behaviour and we were all walking on eggshells. Finally, the Monday after Thanksgiving last year, he said some very hurtful things to me, I left for work crying and told my husband we can't keep going on like this. Michael and joined in September and we were trying so hard to keep him at home, we were not charging him rent, cell phone, insurance, food and letting him drive our cars as he did not own one and the crap we got had to come to an end. We did not see much of him or talk with him until last weekend when he put his feelings aside and spent quite a bit of time at home. Just playing xbox with his youngest brother, Keegan who is 14. He came over for a wonderful family breakfast Sunday morning, (a big tradition in our house) and that is a memory I will not forget. All of us, even my daughter who has lived in Hawaii for 3 1/5 years was home, sitting at the table sharing a good meal. Our goodbye's where better than I could have hoped for and now I am just nervous that he can make it through this first week and then the next..... I am still not sure who he called, still trying to figure that out. I am also not sure if he will send us the 4 passes to PIR. All I can do is hope and pray. Thank you for your words of encouragement. It really does help me so much to know that I am not alone and not all sons/daughters are picture perfect. I have always loved Michael and will never stop.

Thanks Judy! I just can hardly wait to go - and as luck would have it, I have my bosses in town this week, so I have to stay focused on work. Oh well, the day went by quickly today, so maybe that is a good thing. I will bring plenty of tissues - at least they will be tears of joy - I have had enough sadness for a lifetime these past two years (long story). Eric and I are really close, so this time that I have to spend with him is really precious to me. He does battlestations tomorrow night, and thenI will just be waiting for the call that says he is now a SAILOR!

Would love to hear about your trip to England - how wonderful for you! It is a place I would love to visit someday!

Take care and keep in touch!

The Colorado Love Boxes are filled with food, stationary, personal items, notes, etc. for our Colorado Sailors who are deployed and also for the Sailors from Molly's Adopt-A-Sailor group each month. Everyone just does what they can and right now honestly help with postage is great. I will PM you my address.

Being with my kids is my ultimate joy in life. Like you I will have both of my boys for Mike's A School graduation and I am so looking forward to it.

I am excited about coming to the Western Slope the end of March. My husband is going to come too and we are going to make it a weekend. I sure hope to meet you there.

Hi Judi,
Gosh I hope your dad is doing better. I'm glad you were able to have the time with him though. Karen Price is in the process of putting together a gathering for the Western Colorado moms and I am going to try and come, I am excited to get to meet all of you.

I can't wait for Feb 13 and Mike's A school grad. I am so grateful that we are getting to go and I'm with you, anytime I can see my kiddo I am going to grab the opportunity with both hands. We were in Charleston a couple of years ago looking at the Citadel when Mike thought he might like to attend it so we saw a little bit then. A couple of the moms on the Nuke site put a list of activites together up in a discussion on A School Graduation. You might want to check it out and then I will for sure catch you up on how everything was when I get back.
Life doesn't get any better than having time with our kids and this trip our oldest is going too so I will have both of my boys for 4 days..Whoopee!!!
Thanks for catching me up on what's been happening with you...don't be a stranger now.

Hi Judi!

Thanks for writing those wonderful words of encouragement! Yesterday was my birthday, and I was hoping I would hear from Eric, but it didn't work out that way. He gave me a framed poster from the Grand Canyon right before he left as an early birthday present! It meant so much to me, because the boys and I took a vacation there in October as kind of a last time to spend together for awhile. It was so awesome and filled with lots of great memories!

I am so glad that you son loves the nuclear program - it is so reassurring, as I would hate for him to not like it and then be doing that for the next six years!
Eric was so excited that they put him in that program - he is very smart, but hasn't really put that to work for himself yet!

We got his PIR date yesterday - not the packet - but it was posted on the web site. January 30th!!!!!! We were thinking the middle of February, so this is earlier than we thought it would be. I am just praying that he is not a grad-n-go - Alex (my youngest son) and are planning to be there and we would love as much time as we can get with him. All my family is in Wisconsin, so they are close. I was hoping they could go to graduation, but because we can only get 4 tickets, that will not happen. But we will definately party with the afterwards - I haven't seen them for three years, so I can't wait!

Take care and let's keep in touch!
