it's an emotional time

It's been a few years since I sent my son off, but I remember clearly getting that box. I took it upstairs to his room to go through it in private. I remembered smelling his smell on the clothes, I couldn't wash them for weeks. It seemed like forever until I heard from him too. It was hard, but after going to see his boot camp graduation I would do it all over again. The pain, the tears, the frustration and the loneliness. I look back and boot camp was one of the best times of his time in the Na… Continue

memories

I just joined and reading through the blogs brings back memories of the problems I or my son had. Letting them go, having them home, letting go again. The airfares. layovers, cost of coming home. New uniforms at the last minute, cut off phone calls, lonliness, lack of supplies, money! I thought I was done with my tears but they jumped right back into my eyes remembering the last almost four years of being a navy mom. All I can say is that it always works out, one way or another and time goes on.… Continue

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
