About me:
I am the very proud mother of 4 boys. Brady, is my oldest and went to boot camp 3/26/08. I am filled with pride. I was so afraid and cried all the time, I guess I still am and do! I miss him terribly and am so grateful for cell phones and computers!!!!! He is handling all the ups and downs and has grown so much in many many ways.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That N4M is the best. All of these wonderful Moms and some Dads and wives and girlfriends were so supportive and still are.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Julie, I was "wandering" around the RSS group's older posts and I stumbled on your name.... I notice that you haven't been on for a while. (I only found this site about 3 weeks ago. I am still at the wow-is-this-cool-or-what stage I guess!) What's the status of your son? Has he finished RSS? I'm not being too nosey I hope. I'm just trying to connect.... My son is in San Diego right now hoping to wrap up FRAC soon. It's hard to be apart from them when they have success and struggles in training! Beth

How are you doing? I am keeping Brady in my prayers. He, and Josh and Kyle have all been in my thoughts this week.
Keep us posted!!! It is always hurry up, then wait for news, isn't it? Not sure this is much better than boot camp!

Have a great weekend ~

Julie, I have been away from my computer for a few days, and am now just catching up. We can talk via private messages if you would like to. Being set back 2 weeks is of course disappointing, but tell Brady to just hang in there and keep trying. He needs you to keep encouraging him through the rough parts.

My son has been in P'Cola since April. We have been down 2 times and stayed at the Surburban Lodge both times. There's only one in town. It's 3 miles from the base entrance on Blue Angel Parkway which is real easy to get to from the hotel. We paid $75 for 2 doubles with a fully equiped kitchen. They have a nice pool, grilling area, vending machines, small fitness room, and 24 hour check in. Rooms were clean. We were pleased. I called and made reservations rather than booking online and got the online rate. They advertise that they cater to military families. Real nice people. It's about 8 - 10 miles from Pensacola Beach, 6 miles from Perdido Key. One of my trips was with my sister in law and we felt perfectly safe having left the hubbies at home! Great location for a short visit unless you just want to be on the beach. The beach on base is beautiful and you dont have the crowds.
