About me:
I pride myself in being a mother of two great boys, Bryan and Shane. Bryan is the one in boot camp and is 22 and Shane my youngest is an engineering major at University of Florida. I have a wonderful husband and we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. I love to create. I love mosaics and lately jewelry.

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
What an emotional rollercoaster ride this can be having your son go off to boot camp. Having no communication whatsoever for the first few weeks. Knowing things will never be the same but a great new life for your son.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Karan - I'm doing great! I just sent you a friend request on Facebook. It's pretty fun to be on there and see what Kyle is up to. Kyle is still doing great! He sounds happy when we talk to him. He's already looking forward to coming home this summer sometime and trading in his truck for a Mustang! He just got the truck at Christmas! I'm not too surprised. He had a Mustang before and loved it. Kyle must not have gotten a Navy ring because he never said anything about it. No tattoo --- yet, but my husband got a tattoo in the Marines so wouldn't be surprised Kyle gets one somewhere along the way. Kyle says they finished TCNO and they're in ATT. Guess ATT is a little harder. As proud as I am of Kyle, somedays are still hard becuase I miss him a lot still. How about you? --Susan

Hi Karan - I'm so jealous you are going to Groton! We want to get out there probably this summer sometime after our daughter is done with school (she's a junior in high school). But then again we might hold off and go see him when he finds out which base he'll be stationed at. So much to think about! Kyle told me about going to taco bell with Bryan. I'm glad they did that. Kyle seems happier now too that he's in class and has stuff to do each day. He just got the internet in his room so now he's really happy! So when are you going to Groton? It would be fun if you got the opportunity to meet Kyle. He is a really good kid!! - but of course that comes from his mom :) --Susan

Hi Karan - I just wondered how you were doing? I'm so glad Kyle is in school but with him going at night I don't hear from him as often. He used to call several times a week but now he can only call on the weekend. During the day I only get the occasional text message. Quite a change, but happy he's busy and moving forward in his training. How does Bryan like the class? When I ask Kyle he simply says "it's okay". Doesn't tell me much! Guess some of the computer stuff is a little outdated. So, drop me a line sometime. --Susan

Hi Karan, How are things going? How is Bryan? So where is he now? Luke is still in Great Lakes finishing up his A school. He should be done on Feb 9th and then hopefully off to San Diego. From there I'm hoping he'll get to go to Japan. He's always wanted to go there. He's getting really tired of the snow and cold up there in Great Lakes. I never thought I'd hear him complain about it because we used to live in Nebraska and he was always so homesick for the snow. Well he's getting it now. Seems to snow more there then in Nebraska. I check the weather almost every day. He's still loving every minute of it all. The Navy was such a good choice for him. Well, I'll try to keep in touch better. Talk to you soon.

Hi Karan, Sorry I haven't been on my page for awhile. My main computer crashed and I have been struggling to get my business info all up and running again. Is everything ok with Bryan? Hope so - I just noticed the comment beneath this one I'm writing and it sounds like he might have something going on. Hope it is resolved and he is doing alright. I really don't hear too much from Ryan lately and I have kind of stepped back to let him do his own thing. I think he stays in touch more with friends than with us but that is ok. I am sending him a care package tomorrow because his 24th birthday is this Thursday. I don't have a facebook page but I think just about everyone in my family - brothers and sisters, their kids, my kids etc all do. Maybe someday I'll find the time to do it. Take care. Glad you enjoyed the Gator game. Our team - the University of Utah had an awesome bowl game against Alabama and beat them quite easily. They were the only undefeated college football team in the country so it was an awesome year!! We have had a lot of snow and it is still piled high but the last ten days have been dry and the weather has been pretty mild. I wouldn't mind some Florida temperatures though!
