Hi Karen! Glad to know you're son is in the same div as my husband! I'll be flying out tomorrow so I probably won't get the sailor call, but they are doing battlestations tonight so I'll give you an early congratulations for your sailor!

Oh wow, I hope Zach is better soon. Did he do Battle stations yet? Things are good with Jason. I am just so tired helping my daughter out and watching my grandchildren so much. I'm nit as young as I used to be. This on top of working full time. Anyway, have a good trip and let me know how things went when you get back. Are you having a PIR navy moms meet? There was one when Jason graduated and I went.

Hi Karen so how's the new bride? Did you move? PIR in a few days. After PIR and things quiet down for you a little, send me a comment or PM or something to let me know how things are going.

Hey Karen,
I hope all is well with your son. My husband talked with Mike today. I was in a no service area so all I got was a message :( Anyway, Mike sounded like things with the division were mostly positive...just 17 days left!
By the way I found the Italian from NY that Mike wrote about.
Take care,
Dina

Oh, I'm sorry. In my last letter to Mike I mentioned I was in contact with you so he might know your son already and let me know. I hope all continues to be positive for your son. Yes, maybe you and I will meet at PIR.
Take care,
Dina

Congratulations on your marriage, Karen! I am full Italian and my husband is Italian and Polish (what a combination!) The recruit my son told me about, his last name begins with a "B" could this be your son?
This is what my son said about a "big Dago from NY" (meant in the most positive way!) "It's kind of funny to talk to him cause our family stories end up similar. Today for lunch, the cafeteria served spaghetti. After chow I asked him what he thought and he said 'It's not bad if you pretend it's something other than spaghetti, like sloppy joe's and noodles.' "
I thinks it's neat that they are finding things in common and seem to be building friendships which may last for many years and include cities from all over the country/world!
Talk with you soon.
Dina

Hey Karen! It's hard to make connections when we can't use last names on this site because that is how my son identifies the recruits in his letters home. I do know our sons are in the same division. 946, right? My son will be part of the color guard. I am eager to share stories with you. The Italian recruit from New York has a different last name...can this still be your son?
